lime tree dying

j5cents

I have a lime tree that I have had for about 8 years. The tree has been great always giving good limes and quite a few of them, however, the past six months have been very hard on the tree.

It started when all of the leaves fell off leaving an empty tree. Slowly the leaves started coming back, but a substantial portion of the tree had died. I cut off the dead branches and have tried to nurse it back to health, but nothing is working.

All new growth lasts for just a month or so befor the leaves and new branch sprouts wither and die. Until the leaves start to wither, there is no deformation or discoloration of any kind.

The tree is kept in a temperature sensative place and is watered at regular intervals. There appears to be no fungi, algae, or mold affecting the tree, but I am not quite sure.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks!

Jason
