Overwintering Potted Clematis Indoor and Outdoors

I'm in z. 5. Has anyone succeeded in overwintering potted clematis indoors or outdoors?I'm wanting to plant them in glazed pots and grow them up an arbor(happens to be on pavement).I have to bring in these glazed pots so they don't crack in winter- into my 60 degree cellar, or onto my screen porch.I'm considering doing the same with other vines- bignonia and passion flower and scarlet runner bean. Has anyone experiences to share with this? Much appreciate your help,

Mindy
