LOL I have been starting seeds for a few months now. Every time I would buy some off of ebay I would start a few then I have some saved up to start after Christmas. I am going to start a few of my cross today and a few sang seeds, a few banana seeds(never tried these before, then I am waiting until after Christmas to start the rest. What crosses do you have?

I started a tray of brug crosses on the 15th. So far, nothing is up. I have more I'm getting ready to start, just slow in getting it done...LOL

Not even thinking about it yet. I am still wrestling with cuttings. I won't be doing brug seeds until March.

I ve been starting seeds.LOL Im hoping for the same response with them early. I planted Black Hollyhocks 2 months ago and Have just moved them outside this week. Man they were nice and healthy looking.Im gonna so run out of Greenhouse space. LOLWHat do you have in mind. I had one Lupin Seed come up about 2 weeks ago and a few Hostas.I also Planted some Plumeria seeds a month back. 1 has emergered but I think they would have done better with more regular high temps.

I don't have any brug seeds, but I am planning on starting a couple things next week, and thats it till spring...if I can control myself, lol. I really don't have the room this year for a big seed set-up.

I think I wait a little bit longer. Got to organize all the seeds I got from you all first. But I am looking at the seed trays a lot rofl. To look for heating mats and growing lights was on my list for today too. Figured since I am way out there, I might as well look. That was BEFORE I wasted 4 hours of my life in line rofl.

so for the ones starting something other than brugs what are you starting??? I was going to wait till after Christmas. I am off New Years Day so I thought that would be a good day. I hate working New Years, to me it is the day that I can start over no matter what wrong the year before. So what better way to start a new begining than with seeds?

I have started a few things early last fall but holding off until Jan so I won't forget about them during the holidays. I'm still harvesting seeds!

I started some Plumeria seeds and out of about 15, 5 have SPROUTED yeahhhhhhhh NOW WHAT? aaaaaaarghhhhhhh HELP Karyn what ´to do what to do ? Plant them? How are yours doing?

For now I'm just starting brug seeds. I'll start other tropicals later on. Lucy I'm not on bed rest and am slowly getting back to normal. It's just taking a bit longer then I expected. My DS had a HS swim meet that I went to this am but only managed to make it through half. I had great results with germinating the plumeria seeds that you sent. Unfortunately they were one of the things that didn't get watered while I was away so they are all gone : ( The packing peanut germination worked well and I'll use it again but will make sure I use non biodegradeable peanuts! lol Mary I winter sow loads of seeds and love it. I sow very little in the greenhouse anymore. I love just sticking a container of seed outside in Dec (or later) and ignoring it until it's time to transplant. Winter sown seeds are also not affected by damping off which I have a big problem with in the greenhouse. I've learned to sow many fewer seeds when WS because the germination rate is usually very high. The first 2 years I did it I had so many more plants then I needed or could even give away. I finally just started planting them in clumps because there were so many. You can start the more tender annuals and perennials in jugs in March and April.

The seed pods take anywhere from 3-9 months to ripen. The pod will usually begin to get friable when ripe. Sometimes the stem will also soften and turn color. The seeds are usually viable if they are tan to black. White or very light seeds are usually too immature to germinate.

LMAO Karma! that reminds me of my dye experiment last fall..

This red dye is it made with food coloring? and also what is it for? what kind of daturas? I went to e-bay and bought some triple white datura seeds right now am doing the baggie method to see them sprout.

I haven't started any more brug seeds yet. I am trying to wait until after the holidays. I have some herbs and other tropicals seeds started. I have been debating about peppers and tomatoes but will prob just wait.
