Meyer lemon - small leaves turn yellow and drop
Comments (6)Here are three pictures from this afternoon. The small leaf in the container must be a newly dropped one some time today. I am in central WI. Our weather this week looks to range from 82F-88F with majority of days on the lower end. The lows are in the mid 60s. I will note that I do not think the tree has grown. At least there appears to be no new buds. I've had it for just over 3 weeks now. Note: I removed the stake once and the tree was angled about 45 degrees when I went out to look at it one day. I have it re-staked and tied near the very bottom now. This post was edited by Neurosci on Fri, Jul 5, 13 at 19:48...See Morecitrus leaves turning yellow
Comments (14)Lol,No offence.I am lucky that pummice is easy to get in Auckland New Zealand. It rains a lot here and that has caused a lot of problems for me with container mix for citrus.I have killed so many dwarf citrus!!! I have tried chc/peat,chc/coir,container mix with water storage granules, orchid mix. They have all caused trouble because of lack of aeration to the roots and some just soggy and never dry out.We dont get the wicked heat in the summer that you guys get.Your trees benny are a testament to your skill in creating the ideal mix and growing contions for your neck of the woods.Your trees are awesome. I have killed =grapefruit,2 clementines, tangelo, lemon, orange. So I have done well at drowning my citrus!!!! However, for all you people out there that live in a place where it rains all the time, except summer,i have found what is the best mix for me= 4 parts chunky bark,4 parts pea sized pummice,1 part perlite and one part coir plus osmocote slow release citrus fert. I cation exchange the coir to be safe. The moment i transplant into this mix,the tree starts to grow and it drains great and dries steadily and never remains soggy. This mix is very chunky. When my trees look as impressive as yours, then i will be proud. It gets expensive when you snuff your trees all the time!My clementine i bought recently had some yellow leaves down low when i bought it from the store but after going into my mix,its been putting out lots of new growth.Cheers to all....See MoreYellowing meyer lemon tree leaves. Please help.
Comments (0)Hi guys, I recently purchased a meyer lemon tree and it was doing well until this week when the leaves began to turn yellow. The yellowing appeared punched out and appears more prominent on the sides. I am not sure what can cause this. My soil humidity level is ok, I'm using parrot which helps to prevent over watering. I've attached few photos. Any help is highly appreciated. I really don't want this plant to die. Thank you!...See MoreMeyer Lemon Problems: New-growth curling/dying, yellowing leaves
Comments (8)Sorry for quick double-post.... To answer Hu's question about spraying: you are in a tricky spot because of the weather. As Silica said, you don't want to spray your leaves when it is hot (>75-80 degrees) because that can cook your leaves. My Meyer has been growing like crazy for the last 1-2 months but in Phoenix it is still 100 degrees. So, much of my new growth is deformed. I try and spray with water to knock the thrips loose periodically, but can't seem to keep up with it. In other words, you have few options during summer/fall flushes when you live in warmer climates like we do. I'm not aware of anything else you can do besides a rigorous spraying with water, multiple times a week as long as you are getting new growth....See Morejuliearizona
