My word look at all the blooms and new growth every where thx to YOU Mike and ALL who helped..yippiee..had the flu wow what mess!!!

It's exciting to see the first blooms!

Sorry to hear you've had the flu. :-( Glad your doing better and able to enjoy these now!

Here I am! I couldn't get this computer up fast enought to tell you how proud I am of you, and you even take good pictures!

I will bet your house is just smelling like Florida and making you smile each day! I am so happy for you.
If they are doing that well now and in the conditions you gave them, can you imagine how much better they will do once out in the fresh air and sun!!!?

Just don't put them outside this spring without letting me know first, ok?:-)

It is so good to hear from you. How have you been anyway? You can always let me know in private or here.
I hope you are getting around ok and that your neighbors and friends are being good to you, and helpful.

Grace, clip a whole rosette from the aloe with stem tissue. sprinkle cinnamon on the fresh cut and then mist it every once and a while. till you see the yellow roots forming. Then dirt and gentle watering. One Can not water it till it has roots. I have had the rosettes out in the air in shade for months till the roots formed and they are still alive. Sometimes it takes awhile and sometimes it is quick. It depends on the time of year. Springtime is the best. I have clipped in late fall and they hung around till spring to root. I have placed them in piled rocks because that gives a damp atmosphere, but perfect drainage. some will put it in a gritty dirt and mist till they feel resistance to a gentle tug. I am not talking about your specific aloe , but aloes in general.

Thanks, Luis! The 'MS' that are in the pots down at the office are deep reddish-pink, but from what I've read they lend themselves quite readily to color-changing. They apparently don't go true-blue like some other cultivars, but they can be acidified and/or 'aluminized' to take on a purple to mauve tone. Purple is cool, my favorite color, actually. In my on-line researching, I stumbled across another 'Merritt's' cultivar, 'Merritt's Beauty', which does reportedly take on the vivid blue or red-rose very strongly. It caught my eye quickly (Ooo, lookie! Shiny object!) and what I saw of the 'antiquing', it looks like a crazy watercolor painting-- all kinds of pink, purple and blue with splashes of green and tan. Who knows, though, if those pics were 'doctored' somehow... it just seemed a bit too 'surreal'. Then again, I did see some 'watercolor-looking' florist/Easter hydrangeas of unspecified variety at the nursery in all of the gaudy, fun circus colors. I did not yield to the temptation, though they definitely caught my eye! The structure resembled 'MS', but who knows? I would love to get my grubby little hands on one of those 'Merritt's Beauty' and play with it just to see what it will do! The 'MS' doesn't seem to be all that expensive for a smaller plant, so I may just pick one up anyway and see what happens. I have huge (I mean, HUGE!) pots that might work out as a test bed, and there's a good spot on my back deck. Yes, I know that I'll have to water diligently as pots dry more quickly than in-ground, but these pots are big enough to house 2 to 3 full-sized tomato plants (I've done it for years!!) so they may accommodate a moderately sized hydrangea for a while. Does anyone know if the 'MS' or 'MB' flower on old wood or new? As for the 'Bombshell', here's hoping for the best! It will be paired with Hosta 'Albo-marginata' and Honeysuckle fuchsia, and maybe some NG Imp's for some annual color. Fingers crossed! TY again, Luis! ~megan_anne

Hello Everybody! Granny your dog is sooo cute! Love everybody's pictures! I got package today from my Secret Pal, and everything was so wonderful! I loved it all! My Secret Pal made me the most beautiful garden wreath I've ever seen! I Love it! The wreath is green hose, with beautiful flowers, a garden glove & shovel attached...it is awesome! Looks beautiful hanging on my front deck.. I also got a small wicker basket with Summer bouquet of silk flowers in it, it's adorable. And, the neatest sunhat I've ever seen. It's in a littl pouch, you take it out and it pops open, it's so cool! I also got two jars of jam a strawberry & a Peach, I'll smack my lips for everybody..lol And, she sent me four cute, soft, teddy bears.. Once for each of my Grandchildern, she even put each of their names on the tags.. My Secret Pal is sooo Sweet! Big..Big.. Hugs! Secret Pal, here are the answers to the questions you ask me in letter. Yes, I have a small veggie garden. I love zucchini, I love all veggies. My kitchen table is oval, seats six. My kitchen is color is melon, color of cantalope. Karen, It's not too bad. About 250 roses are easy care, I don't have to do much. I started rose gardening with these. We always had 2-3 rainfalls per a week during the summer in the past, but this summer was too hot & dry, it's not a hassle since only watered these care free ones once a week. The other 350ish are mixed DAs, ORGs and climbers/ramblers, bushes and a few HTs and 39 rose trees and a few Tea, & tender ramblers/climbers that have to be in pots......I think I have 60ish pots after I combined some roses with rose trees. I don't feel too bad, no pain yet. :-) So glad the rain is back, I can make it to gym 2-3 times a week now. I might be a little hyper....... :-)

Howdy Howdy Mike,JoJo..so glad you pop in Mike couldn't wait for you to see the babies..seems the high dollar lights are doin the job as well as all your help there are 2 plants that lost thier names over the years and now i'm finally gonna find out what heck they are ooopss hope i can use that word here LOL once the fruits start to grow i'll send more pics Mike thanks to you for showing me how to use photo bucket but you no what i went there this time and it was different way of up loading pics was it or is it that way for you??? took me while to figure it out...i'll keep you posted and thx so much for nice comments you two couldn't have done it w/out all wonderful help from here...Hugs Mike back for his wonderful messages helping me along..
