That was a bad streak of luck. I'm glad that nothing structural was damaged, but it's sad that you lost your blooms. If you find the inflos, will they bloom in water?

If the buds are mature enough they'll open but God knows where anything is. I'm hoping that I don't find furniture or my hammock in the pool! lol

We had those wicked winds yesterday too! I had a couple of things damaged, but not bad. Hope everyone is safe!

Karyn at least you see SOME bright side of this storm you could have not done much about anyways. I sure hope it looks better then what I imagine it to look from what you described it :-( I know you were really looking forward to see the plumerias bloom. Well my friend...we have to wait and see what next year THROWS our way lol.

We had the winds too Karyn and a branch on Shawnee's Legacy broke off at the trunk and now the nice shape is gone. You know how long it takes to grow the doubles so I am really miffed. My leaves ate tattered too but that's ok because like you, I cut them off when I am bringing them in too. Now late last night I saw they are predicting a temp here of 0F overnight tonight and both DH and I work these two days, him Sat and Sun 4 hours too so just at dark I took cuttings from all but 4 in case they are right for a change.

I took the day off to watch the baby, but spent most of the day uprighting over-turned pots of plumerias, etc.! All the banana leaves are now shredded from the winds, but it's the end of the growing season anyway. LOL!

Don't y'all just hate wind! It seems to do so much damage. Well at least it happened at the end of the growing season, things were going to go dormant soon anyway. Looking on the bright side...

Sorry about the damage you all had. Its here now. I see my naughty nick blowing back and forth out there. I guess that will be the end of all those buds I was waiting to open. It seems to have weak flower stems. The least little wind snaps them off. Guess I'm off to go pick up potted plants and try to prop them up somewhere.

That was one powerful storm system. It seemed to linger over us forever before moving eastward and sounds as though it didn't weaken a bit. We're down in a valley so somewhat progected but still had a couple of pots blow over
...and boy did it clean the scrappy twigs and stuff out of our big maples. on the positive side they would've come down next spring anyhow so maybe a little less cleanup then.

I think the winds were a test to see if you had your hoop GH anchored down well enough after it blew away in your storm last year. Hopefully it passed the test. Sorry your weather has not been kind to you.

Karyn, sorry to hear about your plants. It's very frustrating to baby your plants and wait for them to bloom and than see them ripped off by wind :(

Sorry to hear of your damages & damage to your plants! Luckily you & yours are safe! :) But by the looks of things here - it's our turn!

Came home from work tonight & the Plumie that Kristy sent me was blown over! Set it back up, went inside. Went out a little bit ago to have a cigarette & it was blown over again! Took her & tucked her between a few Brugs! I think she's safe now!

But it's WINDY out there! Winds SSW at 15 to 25 mph! But I think there's ALOT more wind then was predicted!

Well I've kinda sorta cleaned up. I don't think anything is damaged too much to be salvageable but my compost pile tripled in size yesterday. lol I've cleaned up the DD and made cuttings. They are smaller then I would have liked but already have nubbies after not quite 2 days in water so they should do well and I'll be contacting everyone later today or tomorrow.

Theresa I've been using your regular email address threas@rcn.com and even responding directly to some of your emails. That's weird. Are they going to your spam folder? I wanted to know if you still want the AV and strep cuttings and if you wanted the AV's from DH?

Karyn, sorry about all that mess left behind in your garden, but glad you were able to salvage some cuttings. I really got a kick out of your subject line though! It's good to keep one's sense of humor in times like this, LOL!

Sorry to hear about the damage out your way Karyn. It has definetly hit here. I have been up since 3 this morning and it is coming down staight and hard for the past 5 hours. Glad your ok. Hope eveyone stays safe during this wackie weather. I hear some are getting the S word. (snow lol)

thing is alright.
We got some wind here too not as bad as what you discribe
tho, we have had rain for a week tomorrow it`s supposed to
finally stop and be 63 then it`s supposed to drop at night
into the 30`s and I still have alot of digging and potting
up brugs before that happens, I know alot of folks are in
the same boat!

Glad everything was saved. All my plumeria and brugs and even the pots in the arches and gazebo were all over the yard this morning. My poor sister was stuck at the Houston airport changing planes to come here since 8am because of the weather. Finally got in around 3pm. She was a nervous wreck after the scary ride when they finally flew in for a rough ride so we stopped off and had a couple of drinks in memory of Fred and to sooth her nerves. Tomorrow will be a better day I hope.
