pull up 40 foot tree by hand

While working on my pond there was a limb sticking out of some sand.

It was lower in the sand before I dug around it some.

It was still too hard to pull lose, so I tied a big rope to the limb and connected to lever tied to a tree on the bank.

But the rope just got longer and the limb did not move.

In this picture you can see the limb up a little (this was after many days).

Days latter the limb is pulled stright up but sill in the ground.

Now I have the tree pulled up. I did have to cut the roots.

The roots were under water when I cut them.

I got most of the tree cut up now.

I have made the creek to bypass the pond so I can dig in the pond. I also have a pump running all the time to get the water out of the pond site.

I am not done diging in the pond and cleaming the floor up but will fill it up with water for the summer and then drain it to work on it more this winter.
