WANTED: wanted - seed

Never posted on this forum before. I only have 3 clematis so far, sweet aumumn clematis, violet charm and montana rubens. I would love to try growing from seed if you have any to spare. Please look at my trade list for an exchange that may interest you. Thank you, Barb.

Hello! I noticed you were looking for some clematis seed. Not sure if you have found any or not (dont' come here often either), but will start!!
Anyway I have the following:
clematis Hagley
c. alpina "Frances Rivis"
c, "Miss Bateman"
c.viticella albo luxurians
c. petit faucon
c. Nelly Mosier
c. scarlet clematis(clematis texensis)
There were several things I was very interested in from your list:
Lobelia grape knee hi
Shaggy masterwort
helenium mardi gras and runinzwerg
ligularis britt marie crawford
thalictrum flavum ssp. glaucom
rudbeckia maxima dumbo's ears
I do have a few other clematis if you have found any of those or aren't interested. Also you could check my list(though No clematis are listed there) there are many other things. Thanks so much, Melinda PLMK.

why not just buy fruits, then get the seeds from them? You will get good fruit about 90% of the time from random peach pits, and about 1% of the time from pear and apple seeds. Not sure about plums and apricots.

"Can I grow chayote in zone 5?" Unfortunately, that is not likely, unless you could maintain warm temperatures around the vines through at least the end of October. Chayote is photo-period sensitive, and will not begin to flower until day length approaches 12 hours. That is the Autumnal equinox (around September 21st) which leaves little time before frost. I love chayote, and grew it successfully when I lived in San Diego & San Jose, CA. I tried it here, and got a lot of vine; but cool weather stopped growth before it could flower. When night temperatures drop below 50 F. degrees, it stops growing. Over the years, I've often thought about putting up a heated hoop house, so I could grow chayote here. When I retire, and if I find a cheap pellet stove, I just might do it.

I have seeds that I can mail if you haven't gotten some by now, but the Satsuma, being a hybrid, probably won't come true from seed. However, you might get something good and maybe even better -- who knows? By the way, the seeds need to be planted fresh. My changsha tangerine tree is getting big, but is not producing yet, but I'll see if I can get some seeds from a friend if you want to try it. They are very cold tolerant, come true from seed, and very sweet tasting, but are more seedy than Satsumas. Here is a link that might be useful: About changshas from Plant Answers ...
