I got a few from ebay a few years back. Plan to use them in the greenhouse. good buy then.

They get hot, very hot. for the citrus. Start high with the light and move down slowly. Be sure your root temp is at least 70f-21c.

You can fry the tree's top growth or bake the leaves. use caution

Sorry, I really meant to reply earlier. Go to www.gpnmag.com. I used to subscribe to Greenhouse Product News. They have lots of info that will lead you a supplier. Have you considered using a halogen shop light? You can get them at the big box stores. They are on a 5 or 6 ft stand with two 350W or 500W lights. They also come as overhead lights. Search for halogen shoplight. They are about $30.

Try craigslist.com if you're within driving distance of a city. Look at the farm and garden and the holdhold sections. I see several come up every week in the Jacksonville craig's listing. They range in price and wattage, but I think you should be able to find a 175W or 400W MH with ballast and bulb for $75 - $100. People selling on craigslist expect to barter, so just offer what you want to pay.

Regular outdoor MH fictures will work for you too, they are just harder to mount. The ballast is built in the light fixture so they are heavy. They are waterproof and usually 175W, perfect for wintering plants. The lights made for indoor gardening usually have a separate ballast with an extension cord to the light so the part you need to mount is really light - just as light as a bulb and whatever hood it has. Shygirl, there's another site, www.freecycle.com I dont know whether or not you'll find lights, but you never know. The girl who recommended freecycle to me has found several 5' trees for 15.00 each..it's worth a try..good luck, Toni
