It is encouraging that your SEED-GROWN lemon is blooming at such a small size! I assumed that a seed-grown fruit tree/shrub would have to mature (and gain much vertical height in the process) before it could bear flowers and fruit. Doesn't pruning (which is obviously a must when growing indoors where vertical height is limited) keep the tree in the juvenile stage, thereby preventing it from becoming capable of flowering and fruiting? I have a 2 year old seed grown 'Primofiore' lemon, which is 6 feet tall and confined to container culture. Its rate of growth is so fast that I have had to root prune it on two occasions (it was so pot bound that the lowermost leaves were starting to yellow and drop off, but since the root prune, the lemon has put out a flush of new growth). My 2 year old 6 feet tall lemon has yet to flower (how tall must it get before it does?). I patiently await...........

@Tracey Fry, this looks just like my tree! The droplets of water I believe are collected to make perfumes, likely they press the whole flower bud and those droplets too. I believe they are coming from the interior flower. Once the flower blooms and doesn't set fruit pull it all apart you will see what I'm saying. I have done this to the ones that are not female & male, but simply male flower parts and there are little water droplets or sticky secretions inside the flower, towards the bottom where fruit should have been. OK this is a second post or the first post about this on my Etrog tree (citron) that I have been having issues with. I forgot to update this thread as well. I now am seeing flowers that are fully functional on my citron. I am watching fruit begin on it now. So far I have 4 flowers that are setting fruit. I will grab pics & upload them from my other computer's hard drive in a few.

Been off burning underbrush on a friend's acreage, and I'm heading back out today.... but I wanted to respond before leaving! ;-) Redecorating, the amount of Foliage Pro you use per dose will depend on how often you fertilize, how well the plant is growing, and time of the year (which is closely tied to how well the plant is growing). If your plants are in one of Al's mixes, you can utilize a couple different fertilizer strategies. If you fertilize with every watering like Laura, you can use a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. This keeps the tree supplied with nutrients, without overloading the mix with fertilizer residue (salts). Or you can fertilize with a full strength dose every week (1 teaspoon per gallon). During the Summer, I fertilize once a week. Now, because of the slow-release fertilizer that was in the nursery soil, I fertilized this variegated Lemon much, much more lightly than my other citrus. Now that it's in a mix that has no nutrients (other than a small charge of Osmocote), I will fertilize more heavily starting in early Spring. Last year, my Moro Blood Orange was showing some yellowing leaves on the interior. Although it is natural for older and shaded interior leaves to yellow and drop, I suspected that I simply wasn't fertilizing enough to keep up with the tree's growth. So I fertilized with over a TABLESPOON of Foliage Pro per gallon. That turned the tree around. Citrus are heavy feeders, we need to keep in mind, and there will be some tailoring required to arrive at the proper seasonal fertilizer regimen. Josh

Mine are doing great the 3 gal one has been putting out new blossoms like crazy the 1 gal still has none but I am hoping it will look at the 3 gal and feel bad so it will start :) As the little lemons are getting biger I can really see the stripes. One question is this a slow fruit to get big. The lemons on my "sweet lemon" are now bigger than golf balls karla
