propagate Opuntia from supermarket Nopal and Prickly Pear

I wanted to get an Opuntia Ficus indica I went to a supermarket hat has a lot of west indian and latin produce and bought 4 pads of Nopal and 4 Prickly pears.

I put 3 pads in well draining soil [mix of orchid mix and citrus miracle grow] and I did the same with one prickly pear. Is it possible that they would root? i sprinkled some root hormone as well.

the prickly pears are green [maybe too early in the season for the red ones].

If I sow the seeds do I need to do some stratification/ scarring / filing or i can just put them in soil? will it take forever? how fast does a seedling grow?

thanks

stefano
