Just wanted to follow up on how my chids are and they are better then when I left my paph sanderianum ( prob spelled wrong) now has it's first spike since in my hands bout half in to 3/4 but i darn sure didn't see it when I left. Also my phals have bloomed full force all but one bud do you think me not misting for a couple days and watering motivated the plants to start new growth? Thanks again for all you insight!! I agree... I water my seedlings about once a week. Also, I do not have any heat in the room where the plant stand is. The room stays at around 65-68F daily. I find that if they are watered more than once a week, the seedlings don't grow as well. I've never had much trouble with my seedlings using this method. I check them every day. The timer is an excellent idea. I use a heavy duty timer from my Christmas Light display. I works great. The lights are on for around 10 hours a day. I only run 2 florescent lamps off of it but that's all I need.

I suspect when you return, your roses will be blooming and you'll not know you did all that to them. I just make sure they get watered then clean up when I return, Avoids doing it twice, before and after. Learned to do it that way from doing it your way. Upon returning, I'd find my before work, except for spraying, was futile.

We did get away for one night last weekend, up to San Francisco, about 2 hours away, so we did manage to escape briefly. And I got word that my puppy, not even a year old, had a major win at the dog show today, and a reserve win yesterday. It's a big deal. Wish I could have been there, but I am fortunate to have lots of friends who have reported back to me about the pup's win and how she looked, too. Thanks for your concern. I really see Mother slipping in her overall condition, and she knows it, too. She's so frail, it's scary. I'll know more tomorrow.
