Spiders between roots?

Just found small spider-looking insects in the root zone of my 1 yr old seedlings of Sarracenia. They are white or half-translucent, around 1mm or 1/16" long, moderate speed of movements (still faster than me) and appear when sphagnum surface is disturbed, then go down again. No webs of any kind.

What could it be? What insecticide can be used?

well today i found cob webs around my vf. then i saw a white thing in one of my traps. wonder what that is.

Hi Purple...Thanks for the info..What i have is just a round plastic container,not an aquarium, but i do have aquariums,I have a few plants in net pots and they take turns getting into the solution every day, because i made it to fit just one net pot.I do have a peace lily but its still in dirt..what i have so far in water are :philodendron,dieffenbachia, and spider, two of those are in those soiless water beads, something else i am trying out .hey thanks, and if you think of others i can try give me a shout.

thanks guys :) i'd planted the root bits but after your helpful info i have binned that. using the pot to plant some seeds that i forgot i had - can't remember what they are or how they were to be treated so i'm hoping for the best and maybe one day i'll get lucky and find out what they are!! sorry, that probably gives proper horticulturists the cold shivers!

Not eggs. It's part of the mycelium/hyphae growth from a common fungus (mushroom) found in potting soil. If you haven't seen little mushrooms in the pot, you probably will at some time. The fungus is not harmful to the plant nor to you, but simply feeding on (and decomposing) the potting medium. That's not what we want going on within the confines of a small container. When you eventually decide to divide your plant, you may find quite a network of white thready growth and those little balls throughout the container. The fungal mat can be hydrophobic so be conscious of that.....soaking may be required at times.

No, I found images of spider mites throught online image search, it was different. Not oval, as mites, but small thorax with legs and large round abdomen, really like spiders. Never heard about anything like that...

No visible damage to plant done for now, it still alive.

Thanks, will check stores for Orthene.
These insects are not mealy bugs. Nothing similar was at any pests pages - may be just innocent spider population.
