Thank you Chuy415 It's about 100* already here in VB.. IT's HOT!!!

Guess what i decided to do this am? I repotted my last DR!!! I need my head examined to do this when it's this hot!! LOL...Ill put the newly repotted DR in a shady space and let it adjust before i bring it back into full sun..

Morning all, It is a beautiful, crisp, clear, blue sky day here. Finally some sunshine and I can tell that the days are getting longer. The other good news is that my tight blue jeans are just a little bit looser this morning. (I'm not planning on getting back on the scale until they fit)I thought if I saw the scale do something obscene, like be ten pounds heavier than the last time I got on it I'd have to kill myself. Anyway, I just finished rearranging my music on my new MP3 player that Doug bought me for Christmas and I'm going to rock and roll at the gym this morning. We've got a list a mile long of things to accomplish today and I'm just feeling like playing on my computer a bit longer so here I am. Monique! How fun is that. So happy you got your package too. What do you think about those mouse pads??? How neat is that? I thought you could use one and Les could use one. BTW, do you still have that fuchsia? I MUST have some of that so I can recreate that fabu combo next summer. Sue, Monique, Martie, Wendy, Chelone and anyone else interested, I'm going to plan for our annual Febuary Idyll get together. Is there any weekend that is better or worse for any of you???? I think Cynthia and GB should fly in for this also. (Wouldn't that be a blast?) MHT is such a short distance you could fly in and out on the same day if you wanted to or stay whichever worked the best. Michelle, how is that cold doing today??? Have you ever tried Zicam? I've used it for a couple years now and it really does work. If you start using it at the first symptoms of a cold it shortens the duration and lessens the symptoms of the URI. I've not been sick more than three days with cold since I started using that. Cynthia, good grief, aren't you feeding those furbies? They were so hungry they had to do a pantry raid in the middle of the night? Seriously, it's a good thing you heard the crash or you'd have had some sick puppies in the AM. Jerri, love, love, love the wolves story. Perfect! Thans for sharing that. Okie Dokie, I've got to get to the gym to try out that new workout music. Have a terrific Saturday everyone. Well then Hostarhodo, I love to swap. Other than trading with the gardeners I have met around my area, this year will be my first for mail swaps. I look forward to hearing from you (the guy from Halifax and all others) to set up some trades! By the way, I have quite a few rhodos - old and new. Aren't they stunning? Last year was my first spring in the hosue and I was blown away by the spring bloom! If I could figure out how to add a photo, I would but haven't been able to yet:>( Oh well. Soon...I hope. Hi Laura!

Nice photos! I haven't really been on the forums since well before my trip overseas, I have been so preoccupied with other things.

All your plants are doing so well! The Plumerias look great. My cutting has some small leaves coming along, but I am afraid to check the pot for roots. Should I? Should I water it?

Hi Christopher,

Welcome back!!!

How long are the leaves? Don't peek...Leave it alone!! How long has it been since you potted it up? Have u misted it lately or has it been protected from the rain? You can give it a little water if its been awhile. If i'm not sure of the root developement i will give the outer rim of the pot a little water. Have u kept it on the dry side? Water around the outer rim of the container...If the leaves are 4-6 inches long then i wouldn't worry...remember wet to dry!!!

Give it a little drink, especially now with the high temps...put it in full sun and on the hot concrete if possible..or deck..what ever works for you!!!

Seeing claw activity is a good sign. The worst thing you can do is to check for root activity, This is what kills more Plumeria..."Us" LOL....leave it be and it will come along...'

Did you see the email of the mother tree in bloom? It is quite beautiful!! With a lovely fragrance...

Isn't it funny how we can look at the beauty of any material, natural, marble and or any other textured medium and see something and enjoy it for what each of us can see? Nature does give us some pleasant surprises!!!

On my cutting, the longest leaf is less than two inches, with at least three or four more coming along. But I haven't checked for roots lately, and will take your advice. I think I will give it a little water this weekend, as I only watered it twice since it arrived, not wanting to rot it.

I will post some photos from my trip soon. Saw lots of nice Euphorbia milii, large Desert Roses as well as those huge Plumeria.

How are your palms faring?

Those are all beauties!! I have the creamy yellow and the pink plumerias,and they are starting to bloom now as well.

How did you get that Texas star hibiscus to bloom so well,mine has never bloomed that good~~~Do tell

Hello Everyone..

Chris,

I would definately give it some water just aroud the rim and mist it a few times a week.

Keep it in full sun and u will see some improvement...

Those leaves are a great sign..They take so long to root!!!

The time away was probably good for the cutting, so it had time to be left alone without anything or anyone messing with the roots!!! LOL

Thank you for the nice compliments!!! Those Texas Star Hibiscus love the direct sun. That is the only thing they really receive. I dont do anything else to them except water them once a week. They face the western sun and it really gets the full sun...they actually wilt during the heat of the day and bounce back later in the day. I wish that i could tell you more...The only thing that i do is leave them during the fall and winter. Then cut the stalks back in Feb.

You are so lucky to live in S. CA Those Plumies love it there...I was just out to Costa Mesa for the SCPS show in APril...I was in heaven!!! SO many to see!! Have you ever visited JJ's Nursery? He has some real beauties!

I have always wanted a plumeria that blooms white as that. Let me ask you, what is the name of that one incase I missed it?
I think I know what my next order will be from JJ if they have any.
You are a pro at taking beautiful stunning pictures and a pro at growing what you picture. Bravo.
Did you see the ones Mike picked up at HD? I could only wish.

I know that u have as many beautiful Plumeria...are they ready to Bloom? You had said that you had a few inflos showing, so i was wondering if they are ready to put on a show!!!

That White Plumeria is a Noid (Meaning no id on this tree...LOL!!! Not a named variety) For those that dont know what a Noid is!! : )

I will be more than happy to send u a cutting of this White if u want one...it seems to have the scent of the "Scentsational", but since it was sold without a tag...i can only guess. You know only a cutting can carry the true name.

MIke did mention the great buys that he found at HD (Home Depot) : )

He is very lucky to have found some real beauties!!

We even laughed about skipping lunch just to pick up a few more for that price! He really had some great restraint not to bring home a truck load!! LOL

Thank you for thinking of me, things are getting better here! I have K up and walking around the house and she seems to have made the turn ...
