In about two weeks, the leaves will be dead and it will be a white field...the closest look to snow we get down here. don, We wish!!! ronbre, The weather changes here about every 10 minutes. We have been having bad late afternoon and night storms. We have a tin roof and pecan trees around the roof line...sounds like machine fire hitting the roof during the night as the pecans are falling. LOL mwheel, You're very welcome. When the cotton field is all white, we'll take another pic to show you. Sheila, He LOVES taking pictures!! When I check how many photos are on my disk, it's a LOT more than I remembered taking. You never know what you'll find he's taken a picture of.

Happy Birthday! A light dusting of snow is always nice to see. It doesnt hurt many plants (i've had hawaiian ti plants and flowering annuals survive a light coating of snow) and it looks great! The cold hardy palms are especially resistant to snow and they look great in it! Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year! -Alex

Yep, funny and tragic! At least I got to see 50% of my seedling inflos, which is more than I expected at only barely three years old. Thank you all! The flower is actually getting more beautiful, with the petals reflexing back today. I can't get over how thick and large they are, prettier than the pictures show. I was having a very bad day at work today, but I had my pics on my new smart phone and was able to look at them and give myself a little boost :) It's what these flowers are meant for.

Love your canna trolly popmama! That was a very smart thing to make! I wasn't aware that canna's could be overwintered in the garage. I thought that was too cold. They are sun lovers too, aren't they? Popmama, I feel like my neighbors must think I am crazy. They must wonder how I can spend so much time in the front garden (which is getting bigger) and wonder how I could possibly be taking pictures (again) of plants! I think you are very dedicated to your canna's and I understand perfectly your moving them in and out of the garage! Nicholsworth, I just noticed Hush Puppie beginning to sprout in my garage. (I had a talking to it. I said "what are you thinking!!!! It's freezing outside! Stop growing!" In regards to your hosta that are showing signs of life, I would hold back on watering unless you know for sure they are dry. Some of mine have several inches of growth, and I have not watered any one of them! Nicholsworth, that is quite a limb that fell. I am glad you had minimal damage. Nicholsworth, I don't know what to say about your canna and elephant ears showing life. My mother-in-law used to say "where there is a will, there is a way." I really didn't like her saying it at the time. I am sure you will find a way to deal with your plants. My elephant ears were bare rooted. I hope they are not awake as yet. I had better go and check . . .
