HELP first pitcher plant sick.

i got my first pitcher plant a couple of months ago. was excited and hung it on my front porch. the pitchers turned brown and dried out. i moved it to the other side of the porch thinking that side was too sunny. my husband did notice the side that first started dying was the side facing the grill when he cooked a couple of times. moving it didnt help so i moved it inside. now, all the leaves are dying above the brown pitchers. there is green growth but those leaves have no pitchers. should i cut it back, all thats dead? i read they go dormant. any advice?
