Gil, she's looking a bit better today. I didn't prune her - didn't think it was the right time. But i guess it doesn't matter if you're moving them anyway. We had a great couple of days at the lake. The weather was sunny and warm, the water was nice, the fishing was good. Just perfect. :) Dh worked at organizing his shed ("I can't believe I have all these different kinds of nails!" LOL) and i cleaned the cabin - brought out all the stuff that should have been in the shed! Then yesterday, we cleaned up the beach. The water is so low, the lowest we've ever seen. We picked up sticks and moved rocks, that sort of thing. This is a picture of the cabin: This picture shows how low the water is. You can see the high water mark on the rock in the foreground, and there is usually very little beach - a foot or so. The only thing wrong was that with the water being so low, we couldn't actually swim. I can go out up to my waist but after that i'm into the big rocks. I love swimming, so i hope this situation improves by next summer!

Kay, HELEMAN took quite a while to really establish itself in my garden. It didn't bloom at all for me the first year, and only one small scape the second, but when I saw the bloom I was totally in love. It is still not a stellar clump, but I have the room so I wouldn't be without it. It had four gorgeous blooms on it when I took the pic I posted, and it was just breathtaking. Fairsoapgirl, I am glad you posted your pic of MILDRED MITCHELL. I have seen so many stunning garden photos like yours of this plant, and I would hate to discourage people from buying it based on mine's poor performance. I might try moving it somewhere hotter in the garden next year and see if it does better.

VERY lovely, Paul--you do have 'the touch' and I (as so many others have said) love the woodsy look and feel, too! I really wish my 'Frances Williams' would look perfect every year. I think I had one year, about 5 years ago, that it did! I cherish the photos I took of her that year, since she's never look so good since!!! Sigh! I do have an 'Olive Baily Langdon' and we'll see if she measures up to what I've loved FW for. I know I will love it that it doesn't get the ratty look, early on, like FW has a tendency to have! Thank you for sharing your woodland hosta garden with us!

Awww, I'm sorry to hear this - he played his 'Lumpy' character very well - RIP, Lumpy!
