Hello-- our neighbors have tons of beautiful Silver Sheen Pittosporums and they have offered for us to have some cuttings to propagate and grow in our yard. However---Neither of us know how to do this.
Do you have knowledge of how to cut and grow this type of plant? How much do I cut off? Is there a time of year I should cut and plant it? Do I just plant the bare wood/cutting into potted soil or is there something more I need to do to the cutting? Do I start it in a pot and transfer to the ground later? Fertilizer?
Please be as detailed as possible. I am VERY new to gardening and have never propagated anything before.
PS: I live in Berkeley, CA, very good climate but clay soil.
Thanks so much
