Yep thats Romeo and he's only 1 year old. Very big personality! when i mix soil for potting plant, he mixes it as well... with his entire head! haha

Diane, did you take that job offer? If so - where? You know I'll be there, asking you a gazillion questions. LOL. Every day is a happy day for me. No, not really, but I do try and find SOMETHING that'll make me happy, and there's always at least one thing. My Lilacs are blooming, too. The scent is heavenly. My wisterias (2 of them coming together over a huge pergula) is in full bloom, and standing underneath them, taking in the scent, listening to the hundreds of bumblebees going to town, hearing their endless "hum" - THAT is happiness :) Grabbing some awesome "Genesis" tickets sure was awesome, too, especially seeing my husband's face when I told him I got some.

I certainly understand your feelings. It is tough when friends move away. But at least she will be back for part of the year. But Massachusetts isn't the other side of the world. Certainly you could take a quick trip for a weekend or so, right? That would help make up the time in between. That's what my friends and I do.

It is funny you say that dances....as I walked out of the store, I was thinking, should I be scared that she just got in my space? But no, it was so heartfelt, I could tell. And she had just handed me back my card, and you could just tell she was a good person. I had to dash those bad fleeting thoughts from my mind. It makes me crazy that people cannot be friendly without us thinking that there is something wrong behind their intentions. But that is the way of the world now a days.... She made my day, and I wish more people could do these goofy things without another thought. Ahh....the good ol days.... Trin

It has been a later start than usual. It is about a 2 weeks difference than the other years. Unfortunately, the growing season doesn't extend. I catch up with you guys and it seems to end around the same time. But I will make a note and see for sure in the fall. Ken, I would do a happy dance ,but my neighbors already have asked me if they should call an ambulance when they see me laying down on the lawn taking pictures. Everyone around me is in their 80's or plus. I entertain them enough as it is. Saija, I love your crinkles! :)

Siam now THAT would be a great picture. Of your Romeo helping you garden lol He looks like he is totally in love with you.

I can see why these things made you happy today and hope that you will see many many MANY happy days to come!!!!

Now what I REALLY want to get of my chest is the Canna Bloom in the 3rd picture. I am IN LOVE!!! oh my gosh I can not believe that there is a PINK Canna!!!!!
Naturally the coloration in the 4th picture is to die for.

OMG thanks Lucy, the canna in the 3rd pic is one of my hybrids!!!!!!!! yay!!! its a delicious mix or soft pink and cream! its is nice.
and the canna in the 4th pic is canna tropicanna, what a canna that is. it was found in south africa, and until now is one of the best foliage cannas ever. I wish i could make something that good one day :/

He just gave you the GIFT to do some work for him. You are doing GREAT!!

The day when you will be THRILLED by one of your hybrids..I hope I will be there!!! That pink and cream one would have made me go crazy for joy!!! Did you name her yet???

Siam- what a sweet, cuddly puppy- I could just wrap my arms around him! He would make me happy too! Your flowers are so unique & beautiful!

Siam, Your pictures make me smile too especially the last one, Romeo. What an adorable dog! I am glad to know he assists you in the garden! LOL!!! I love the Tropicana Series Canna's for their foliage. I don't have them all yet but am working on it!

Karyn, i have 63 varieties, and alot of my own hybrids. I try not to keep to many hybrids, so when i get something reallky nice i get rid of one that wasnt as good. I usually grow about 100 hybrids at a time and choose about 5 of so to keep.
Joyce, yes i know there is now tropicanna gold and tropicanna black. I iwsh i could get my hands on those, but unfortunately trinidad is limited :(
Lucy nope i havent named that pinkl and cream hybrid yet. If i get something really nicer i might have to get rid of it though. because of limited garden space.
