New to fruit trees. Over or under-watering?

Andy

I recently purchased a new home, and, after reading up on fruit trees decided to give it a shot. I've struggled to understand true watering requirements (everywhere I read has different advice!), and after planting and setting up a drip irrigation system, am noticing the plants are showing some minor signs of stress.

Specifically, I'm seeing some yellowing of some leaves and fruit/flower drop!

My drip irrigation is set up for every other day for 15 minutes. I've got 2x 1gph drips on my 3ft Pomegranate shrub, lime tree, blood orange tree, and 1/2gph on a passion fruit vine and kiwi vines. I added "sure start" to the soil + mix when I planted, but have not fertilized (it's only been a few weeks).

I'm in Sunnyvale, CA, where it has been quite dry and arid (zone 9b, ~80F daily with no rain http://www.plantmaps.com/94087).

Please help me understand -- am I over, or under-watering? How do I adjust? thanks!
