I had a couple of pink flamingos in my yard for awhile. I named them 'Tongue' and 'Cheek'. They finally died. I think of,embarrassment.

TY! Yes, one of the Hamelias . A Monarch and a Gulf Fritillary nectaring side by side. I have several different firebush plants through-out the garden. As for feeders, I keep feeders on hand and only put them out when after I see a hummer. I keep them clean , replacing small amount of sugar syrup every other day in hopes it may be just the extra encouragement too keep hummers in the garden. The one year we did have hummers nesting, they were so illusive, we only saw the male once, the female once, then suddenly there were babies :) I never did see any of them use the feeders :( Luckily, the babies followed a schedule, feeding on flowers every few hours. :) We found the nest months later blown onto the ground in a storm. As soon as the male babies started to develop their ruby colouring, they all departed. I wish I had videoed them, but at the time, had my hands full with my own babies :)

Another Jergens self-tanner here! Love that stuff! It never looks fake, you can't mess it up, it is moisturizing, and it is cheap. I start using it early in the spring just on my face, neck (for the V and scoop necks) , shoulders, arms (for those early short-sleeves). Next I will do the feet and calves when I bring out my first capris and flip-flops and sandles, gradually working up the thighs. It is so "natural" looking that it reminds you of when you start changing your seasonal wardrobe to spring clothings and get a subtle real tan If you get in a hurry and happen to get a small streak, just scrub the streak with a wash cloth a little harder. It doesn't stain my clothing or bedding. A little of it will show up on your wash cloth when bathing, but it doesn't all come off - just reapply every day or every other day . I apply after drying from the shower, let it soak for a few minutes while doing face, then start dressing. I don't bother putting in on the main trunk of my body unless I plan on wearing a bathing suit. I don't bare a lot of skin :). I also have a Mary Kaye self-tanner that I can use later in the summer - it is a little darker than the Jergens - but not the ugly "fake-dark". It's is kind of "coming back from vacation" tan. Thought I'd give you an update on our trip. The first day 5 of them did a wine tour and a friend and I looked for bookstores. We got the muni pass and rode cable cars and buses through upper SF and into the Mission district. We walked more miles than I have ever walked in my life, ate at some great restaurants, and took the BART back to the Ferry Building. We did the Hop on Hop off, and that was probably a good way to get acquainted with the city. We should have done that the first day. We went to Sausalito, saw the Golden Gate and Oakland Bridges, and the Seven Sisters. We spent every evening walking through Fisherman's Wharf. I bet the locals get tired of tourists but we found it fascinating to hear all the different languages spoken around us. We met a young man who had decided to drop out of his master's program and tour the world all by himself. He was from Israel and had climbed part of Mt. Everest, and been to Africa, Antarctica, Peru and several countries in South America, and had been across the northern US starting in New York. We also wondered why we didn't see any flies and mosquitoes there. All that seafood sitting out on tables in the open air and nothing but seagulls around. Very interesting. Wouldn't want to live there, but wouldn't mind going back every few years, especially if we rented a condo rather than stay in a hotel.
