Yes, those are a little small to remove. Some Aloes pup right off of the main stem and some send out pups from the stem. Wait for the pups to be larger and they'll have a greater success (an almost surety, really) of growing themselves into pupping plants.

Ok thank you! I tried a Google search about them pupping off the stem but didn't find anything. Thought I had a mutant thing going on hehheh.
The weather here changed suddenly to very hot and I left the babies in too much sun and not enough moisture I believe. They're a bit bigger than in that picture but still too immature maybe. Hope they make it :-/
Can anyone identify my plant? It thought it looked like a soap aloe, but I never knew that there are a TON of aloes!

Do the pups have roots?

They have like a nub, and it looks like root buds on the stem nub part. I can post a pic tomorrow of one way too small baby I plucked accidentally. I don't think it's going to make it for sure. It'll show the nub part

O.K... for now you should take them out of the soil, just set them someplace dry for now until you can post a picture. If they do not have good roots, they shouldn't be in moist soil/mix, it will cause them to rot.

Here's the pic I got last night of one of the babies root/stem. The two little nubs at the end have grown. I think they were just little dots when I planted them. They're in quick draining soil, and it's 100 degrees where I live, should I just keep the little guys planted and be careful not to overwater?

yes those are roots starting. Do not over water. Something grittier than MG potting soil would be better in the long run, or just cut the MG with 50% pumice.

Yes, looks like A. maculata aka A. saponeria aka soap aloe. The flowers will tell you for sure. The spotted ones are the most difficult to ID. There are over 500 species of Aloes and just as many if not more hybrids.

Ok thank you :-D I'll keep a close eye on the watering. They are mostly in gift giving temp soil, but I'll work on a better mix for future babies.
I couldn't believe how many species there are when I started trying to figure out what mine is!

I agree, the first one is starting roots. Not sure about the second one. You may want to tuck it in some dry soil for a few weeks and see if it develops roots.

Do you mind me asking what part of the country you are in? Im in Arizona and we are warm today! Heading into summer now. Another week we will be in the 100's :-)

Don't put that aloe gel on your skin. It will burn you.

Jojo, I am in the Central valley. It is regularly 100+ here in the summer. Sad for me, great for all the cactus' and succulents! I have a Southern facing balcony that gets a ton of sun. Most every plant I put on it fried, until I turned to the desert plants.
Zackey, I've put it on my skin! I wonder if it hasn't bugged me as I have Rosacea? I tried seeing if it would foam in water too, but it didn't do anything, unless I didn't do it right.

We get up to 110-112 in june then it's monsoons in july-sept. lol.. Im a summer person so I don't mind. and yes, some of the plants love it. we had a heat wave a few weeks ago and my hybrid Aloes were not happy! waiting for them to get over sulking. lol

I used to have a mutt aloe in the yard and used it all the time on my skin with no problems.

It doesn't look like the medicinal aloe.. but neither did my mutt..
