How many babies did it have? and the yellow was under them?

I think I counted 12 which were all about a 1 inch long and different girths. Most of them, about 8 or so were tightly packed on that yellow area i'm concerned about. The babies themselves don't seem to have yellow tinge like the mom does though

The mom looks pretty healthy. It's possible it's yellow from lack of sun from the babies.

Your soil looks like it may need some perlite added for drainage.
What kind of mix is it in? It's kind of hard to tell in the pic.

I honestly have no idea what soil it's in, I just popped into my mums green house and found the driest soil I could find, woops! I'll defiantly look into getting some decent stuff for it, It's survived 10 years with my plant-killer mother so i'd hate to be the one that kills it!

Any idea how long it'll take for it to go back to a healthy color if it is just deprived of sunlight? and how long it'll take to grow back into a normal shape? (it looks a bit patchy)

No, I don't know how long or even if it will green back up if it is from lack of sun. So hopefully others will see this soon. I feel it's lack of sun, but not positive.
It looks to me like it may have stretched for sun at some point, so may not get back a normal shape.

As far as soil, you could use a cactus and succulent mix , and add 50% or more of perlite.

Lol the shape is a little obscene, but other then that the shape should not really matter. As long as its healthy it should be fine. Im thinking the yellow part is just from the pups growing on the mother NOTHING to worry about, it might turn back green, it might NOT. But it's not a big deal. On of mine has the same thing from having pups on it that fell off to bcome there own plant.
