Hi I saw a set of plans on how to build one of those big bicycle wheeled garden carts. I think it was a month or two ago but I did not buy the magazine and now I wish I had. Does anyone know which magazine had those plans. If not is there a set of plans out there anyone knows about that I could use. Thanks in advance.

I didn't see that magazine but did find a picture of one on Lee Valley.ca Is this the kind you want to make? A little pricey to buy.

I've never seen one of these carts in action but they seem quite popular.

There's another store I've seen them at, Princess Auto. Maybe they have a store close to you.

There was an article on tip carts in the Mother earth news.

I have a tip cart (with bicycle wheels) like you are describing....They are great for hauling leaves, soil etc.

Hello grevay, I have a tractor scoot that I pull with me every time I garden. The pulling handle can also be locked up so that you can use it to steer with while you are "scooting". The plastic "tubtrugs" are handy (you might want to get more than one) and they also have a 5-gallon plastic bucket that fits in the carrier. I frequently interchange my tubtrug with the bucket, depending on the task at hand. Several companies have something that looks like this and costs a bit less, but the seat on the one from Gardener's Supply can adjust lower than the competition, which I find saves my back when I am placing seeds or pulling weeds very close to little seedlings. In my opinion, this one is worth the extra cost. I adjust the seat height for maximum comfort on my back for whatever task I am doing. For me, it would be about having something very solid nearby so I could get myself upright again. So many of the so-called 'aids' for folk with mobility issues seem to have been designed by people who have no problems to speak of. If there's room in your garden, would something like an adult tricycle with a built-in trunk or a hitch coupling be of any use? Thanks for the timely warning. I shall definitely keep up my fitness so I don't end with bumps and bruises when the inevitable accident occurs.

Hi Dotty, The more I looked at carts online the more I came to the same conclusion about the tarp. I'm also able to make my own super heavy duty one because I had an upholstery biz at one time and still have the heavy machines. Maybe I can have a little garden tarp biz on the side if I come up with something good? :) Thanks and Happy Spring

I am in my sixties and find bending over to garden quite challenging on my back and knees. Any recommendations for garden carts that one can sit on, as well as have storage areas for plants and tools? If it pivots, that would be even better but not a necessity.
