Thanks the photo was a lot nicer before I resized it several times. Ruth Ann I can't tell you how addictive orchids are because I am in denial. I am just glad that they take up less room than the Brugs. My favorite orchid genus has close to 3000 species so there is no shortage of plants to obtain.

Randy, Just saw your post. Looking at the photo again, I'm not sure about the sanguinea ID. It could actually be 'Inca Queen' but with much paler flower due to cold temperatures. Once it warms up a bit this spring, the color might intensify and go even further up the corolla. On the other hand, for 'Pasachoa' the color goes up too far. The yellow sanguinea from Annie's is most likely 'Inca Princess'. I got one from them about a year ago. It was the only yellow sang they had. The flower does develop the characteristic orange tinge upon ageing and it matched in all aspects the 'Inca Princess' plants which I received from two other sources.

Thank you; karmahappytoes, now it is more clear to me. Yes, that's very important to give an exact status for the flowers. But this is right for every flower, to know the name, the varieties and their origin and so on. To be fair, yes, we have to respect all rules concerning the nomenclature, I totally agree with you. But why do you think that the informations given on this forum are not what they have to be? Where is the mistake to look for a flower (even when you know that it is very poisonous)which you desire? Can I suggest to open a post only for these informations turning all about the virus? For example, how to detect it, how to fight against; what are the criterions for a right Brugmansia which make you able to do your choice; is there a list of serious growers; what is allowed and what not in this culture.... But, surely, all these questions existe already. You know it better than I do. Brugs are not my speciality so I am beginner and have to make my experience with them. There is no danger that I'll make hybrids. And when, I suppose that there will be an office to label new introductions as it is usual for the irises, amaryllis, paeonias, camellias a.s.o. Now to the Brugmansia sanguinea: isn't it a botanical one? If not, where are their parents? No, I don't want to put my head in the sand and will be happy to learn more about these problems. I am in z:4 and have several brugmansia blooming in my unheated garage. When frost threatened in late September I dug them up and put them in 10" pots to spend the winter in a cool dark basement room. Since they had many buds I wanted to see them bloom so have waited to bring them inside. The blooms have been spectacular and lasted for a long time. But temps are falling and soon I will have to bring them inside. One smaller plant was brought inside last week full of blooms. The blooms did not last long in the 70 degree house. Many brugmansia seem to wait for cool autumn temps to bloom. One of mine has bloomed on and off during the summer as well.
