Pipevine Swallowtail babies

Well, my cup runneth over. Spotted telltale signs of nibbling on the Pipevines this morning so just had to take a closer look. Now I've got a bunch of tiny Pipevine cats to care for.

The only other time I attempted to raise them by hand, they had the parasitoid wasps that appeared through a small hole in their chrysalis. I thought I'd never get over that shock. Last summer I had enough survive the predators to keep my garden flooded with them all summer.

I so hope these are healthy. In fact, now that I think of it, I'd best raise them separate of the Monarch cats, in case they've already been attacked by those tiny wasps.
