I think it is also known as a Chocolate Mimosa tree. It has dark leaves and pink flowers. I would love to have some seeds to try and grow one of these beautiful trees. I will check to see what i have to trade for them and anyone who would be willing to trade would really make me happy.

Mimosa's require dark and 80 degree soil to germinate. Constant bottom heat until roots are well established also helps. Nicking the seeds with an exacto knife or razor blade helps but isn't really necessary. Plant 1/2" deep in good moist potting mix (not dirt) and cover so light doesn't get to it. I use several thicknesses of damp newspaper. Good luck.;) Dave

You may have to water it in those conditions. I was picturing someone with normal rainfall trying to baby a tree. If you really are in a low rainfall area, watering may be necessary. Just remember to water slowly, deeply, and only when needed as opposed to frequent, quick, shallow watering. This will help the tree become better established and be better able to deal with low-moisture/real-world conditions.
