Brug serrated leaves?

I have several brugs that grew from seed. The lady that sent them to me said they are different colours. What I noticed is that some have leaves that are even around the edges and some are serrated. Does that mean that they could be different colours or doesn't it have any significance. Just wondering because I have Frosty Pink and the leaves are even yet the one I bought at Walmart which is supposed to be an orange colour has serrated leaves.

It could be but since there are so many hybrids now, nothing is certain. The only way to know the color is when they bloom but unless they had a name attached they will still be NOIDs. Not to worry tho, many noids are very beautiful and have great scent!

sultry_jasmine_night, is correct here. It's hard to tell by the leaves anymore. The is only a hand full that as they mature will keep the serrated leaves. One should not judge a Brugmansia by it's leaves alone.

It could also be a Viburnum dentatum cultivar. My 'Chicago Luster' is starting to leaf out and it looks like your photo. One yours gets totally leafed out and blooms, an exact id can be made. Whatever cultivar it turns out to be it will be good. I've never met a viburnum I didn't like : ) Remy Here is a link that might be useful: Viburnum dentatum

I find a lot of them do. There's pic's at dave's forum that don't show serrerated leaves but I don't know if the poster knows what they have. It's similiar to another 'Frosty Pink' I saw posted on another thread. Talking about similiarities, see: http://www.abads.net/Brug-comparisons/ You might want to google search each name to find yours out. Colored ones should be identifiable, except that even if they came from the same parents, seedlings can still exhibit different qualities of the parents, though given a specific name for specific qualities. Which qualities classify what a plant should be called is 'probably' based more on the flower than the foliage but if anybody knows where there's a data base collecting this kind of data with specific qualities would be good to know. Use brugmansia as your first search word, then the specific name.
