You can't go wrong with the links x posted. I like to move out of the communal pot as soon as I have one set of true leaves. Here are some I've potted up the past few days.

Personally I've never seen a reason to use a "seedling" mix. I start my Adeniums in the soil I grow them in. Call me silly, but for some reason that sounds logical. Not knocking it, just don't do it. I'm sure it makes sense with other species. But in my mind not this one.

But keep in mind I'm just an opinionated old man set in his ways. :-)

Have you bought the Thai Socotranum in Thailand? Is that a Bombax elipticum in the second row?

I've been growing (or at least trying to grow) Adenium myself for a few years now. Unfortunately, they are pretty non-existent in danish nurseries and shopping malls. So I have to buy them from nurseries in Germany.

The Thai Soco was from a fellow Adenium lover here in the states that grew it from seed. Have a few more I got from her on another bench. A few of the arabicums on that bench I imported from Thailand.

Adeniums are my passion. I have quite a few of them. First was interested in them for the bloom, but over the years it's become about the caudex and shape.

I believe the plant to be Bombax elipticum, but haven't spent any time trying to id it. Guess I'll know if it blooms.

I collect caudiciforms - mostly plants of the Apocynaceae family (Adenium and Pachypodium species). I love Adeniums but the mild climate (and short summers) up here north makes growing a slow process (and flowering a difficult thing to accomplish). So my main focus is also the caudex and shape.

You stage your plants beautifully in those bonsai containers. I've thought about buying such containers myself but the prices here take your breath away! So until I'm done with my studies, I'll stick to cheap (horrible) clay pots.

I tried cactus soil with adenium seeds before and nothing happened. A web site that I was given recommended vermiculite. It was an outstanding success out of 6 seeds 5 germinated. But the website didn't say when to transplant.

Well, if you soak Adenium seeds for 12 hours in water, you can germinate them in a closed plastic bag (at 75+ F). No soil is required. Fresh seeds should have a germination rate of 90-100%.

Here are the answers to the questions. You can transplant at the true three leaf stage. When you do transplant take the soil around the seeds so that you don't disturb the roots. Keep the seeds in filtered light.

They can be in the plastic bag for a year just don't let them get dried out or drown them in moisture. I got the answers from from an horticulturist. The reason she said to leave them in a bag is because here in West Texas its easy for them to dry out.

She also said not to leave them outside if the night or day is going to be below 50 degrees. These instructions would work for my epi seedlings as well. Just don't put the epi seedlings into a cactus soil that has lime in it.
