The first one may be K. spathulata. Other might be K. manginii which is hairy and produces plantlets on the inflorescense. Yale Here is a link that might be useful: K. spathulata

Rhizo, first off, how are you? Life has been crazy around here..If you have teh same e-mail, I will write you! Now, question? Does it make a difference for geranium if the temps drop cool once in a while as compared to constant cold temps..It seems no matter how much I watch my watering, even in porous mixes, I loose every one of them. The leaves rot of and the plant dries up and dies..If I keep them growing in warm temps no problem. If they are exposed to cold once in a while they still do ok..It's the constantly cold temps that seem to do them in..( My Spider Plant too can take cool temps outside, but only for a short period of time before it show signs of weakening and yellow leaves if I leave them exposed to temps lower than 55 for days.. Many succulents often change color depending on different growing conditions, time of year etc. Many succulents will put on more, warmer, color when exposed to more light. I imagine it was either inside or in low light conditions when you bought it and exposure to more light along with maturity have caused the color change. That chalky stuff you are talking about could be a glaucus leaf coating which is also normal on some plants. I've seen a bronze graptoveria go from a bright pink to a deep green because it was moved into a low light condition (color change caused by stress.) I've also seen stapelias turn from green to pink/orange when moved into higher lighting conditions. Sempervivum hens and chicks change colors year round depending on the season which is one of the things that appeals to many collectors of this spieces. I'm assuming the last picture posted is probably a better representation of what the plant color is more likely to look like. It doesn't look like a Crassula to me. It looks more like some kind of cotyledon reminds me a bit of cotyledon mint truffle but it does have a margin closer to a kalanchoe millotii. It looks a lot like a kalanchoe of some sort actually. There are a lot of kalanchoe's that have a fuzzy coating on the leaves. Hope this helps get you started on a Google search. Rina, we moved here about 1.5 years ago. As for the clippings, I "stole" a few clippings from a neighbor back in the late '80's! This plant has flourished! My mom and I have broken pieces and started new pots over the years. In fact, we have probably given away close to 50 pots over the years! When I moved from Alabama to Texas, I left my pots with my mom and just broke off a few to take with me. Once it rooted and started growing, I broke off from it to start the second pot. And both pots have the round leaves on some of the new growth. Not all new growth is doing it. I have several different plants from Devil's Backbone, Pepperoni, Rick Rack aka Queen of the night, and Rice Cactus and many others. None of those are showing strange growths. All of the plants get the same water. It just baffles me as I've never seen it before. I think it's cool looking, but curious how it will grow moving forward.
