When did you do your pruning?

My favorite time is just when they break dormancy, as I see the bud tips swelling and starting to push new leaves. But pruning can be done just about any time they are actively growing.

You shouldn't have any problems if the soil is dry. I prefer not to fertilize until there are leaves open.

I did the pruning on april 12th, I've had the plants about a year, they both had a flower each , and had some new leaves coming in, but all at the top of each branch, so now both have no leaves.

My concern was the tips by were I cut are "shrinking" a bit, And I didn't know if the rest of the branch will shrink or it was part of the healing process.

Photos of the growing tips would help. I'm not sure how much help I can be since I don't encourage year round growth on my Adeniums. I like for them to defoliate and rest over the winter. At least from my experience, my Adeniums perform much better bloom wise during the growing season when they get the winter off.

When you prune it's normal for the stem to die back to the next bud where the new apex will start growing. Nothing in your photo really raises an alarm from what I can see. There will be buds starting to swell soon along the top of the stem. Depending on location, time of year, amount of sun, etc etc you might see buds in another week. Might take a little longer since they are indoors.

What's the world coming to? Everyone has a camera phone, but no one has a camera. Guess that explains photo quality.

I probably wouldn't water again until I saw swelling where a leaf once was signaling that it is ready to start growing again.

Toni, the tips were all pretty much white when I cut them, now they are a little brown(as you can see in the first and second photo).

Robbie, Looks like you did it! This is a lesson learned on my part cause I am always scared to prune my plants. But we learn from trial and error.

Oh, those look nice. I just bought 2 succulents from a nursery around town, tomorrow after i wake up i am going to transplant them into separate pots as they have many little babies.. I am sure succulents can handle hard pruning as they are very conservative with their water : )
