I just went to the website and there appears to be a photo of a hornworm, which are definitely more of a problem for commercial growers than monarchs would ever be (unless you're a milkweed farmer. LOL!)... still, chemicals... I think thier website needs a "Mr. Yuck" sticker. Susan - a year ago when digging/planting in my garden I came across tons of grubs - I put them all in a box with smooth sides (they could not get out) - and put them near my other birdfeeders. I witnessed a few migrating thrushes checking them out... and come late morning the grubs were all gone! Also on the topic of people being misinformed, I was at an art fair in Michigan last year and saw a photograph of a butterfly, beautifully framed and with a small plaque engraved (and under the glass) that said "Monarch Butterfly". It clearly was NOT a monarch! Upon further research (I had assumed the photo was of a Vicroy) - I discovered that it was a Soldier butterfly. Ack! That this person went through so much trouble to affix an engraved ID plate... and it was WRONG! Anywho, sorry for the rant. People who don't do their research in general just irk me. Art is one thing, but when it comes to something like this Diatect website....! People are so.... dumb. Kudos to Bernergrrl and all for bringing this to our/thier attention - hopefully they are more informed and better off for it. Sandy

Sherry, yes that's it. I had been trimming branches from a sycamore trr eariler in the day. It must have gotten on my clothes because I found it up near the house on another plant. I put it back where I found it eariler and now can't find it-so I put some leaves from the tree up where I left it. Will keep checking for it. thanks, molly

Andrea, does he stay in your yard? If so, do you have an outside storage area where you could put a small space heater to keep him warm and a bed? Could you make him a kitty door? What about a back area of the house, like a laundry room or mud room where he could stay away from the other cats? I rescue both dogs and cats. I'm down to 8 dogs and now up to 8 cats as I just took in another one. He's a grown male and has been neutered and declawed. I caught the people putting him out beside the road, we live in the country. Of course they denied it. I could just strangle people like that. Being declawed, there is no way he could have protected himself. I've had to rearrange animals so many times. If I were closer he could stay here. I have 2 that are outside and they have a bed in the storage room by the carport with beds and a small heater. Of course we don't have winters like you. I hope this works out for you. You may want to check for a feline rescue group in your area and they may be able to help. Lynn in Alabama
