Everything's dead and I'm done.

That's it. My gardening year is over.

I asked my DH to do ONE thing: keep an eye on the greenhouse. That's all. Check the heater every so often, be sure seedlings don't get too dry. I didn't even ask him to fertilize or transplant.

Today he says "you better come outside, the plants look wierd."

Wierd. Interesting choice of word for a greenhouse full of frozen tomato, pepper, and eggplant seedlings. All dead. 270 tomatoes (over 50 heirloom varieties), 30 eggplant (all heirloom and rare), and all 100 of my hot and sweet peppers. Dead. Only survivor were a few tough perennials.

He didn't think they needed attention EVERY day. That was too much like work.

I'm going to have a long cry, and a hot shower. Then I'll sweep up the dirt and put everything away. I have no seeds left and obviously I won't be harvesting any this year.

I just give up.
