Thanks sdavis and Joyce. I'm growing these in 100 gallon stocktanks, so I'd better stick to Tina. I've had that one before and it did well. I was just curious about how the shades of purple compared, and it sounds like they're very similar. Joyce.....I think I remembered seeing a lily in your lotus pond. I just have a very small lotus pond (300 gallon stocktank), but was wondering if I put a lily in there too, it would probably be too shaded. Is your's more at the edge, where it might get more sunlight?

You say you planted your seeds "mostly in spring" and I don't think anybody addressed that issue. Both California poppies and our native lupines (both annual and perennails) are adapted to our cool, moist winters and are best sown in fall to grow through our wet late fall and early winter for bloom in late winter and spring. Some California poppies, when sown in fall, can be extended into summer by an occasional watering. In fact, in many cases thay kind of become perennials (albiet short-lived). When sown in spring, they don't do all that well (orange or red or any color). They haven't a clue what day od the year it is and don't bloom as they should (some do, most don't). Annual lupines don't respond happily to pinching, deadheading, trimming, etc. When sown in fall, they get as bushy as they should. When sown in spring into summer, they end up spindly and minimally flowered. NOW is the time to prepare your ground for sowing these seeds. And sown SOON. Joe

I also find polyneura easy to root. I just stick cuttings in a pot of soil and set them on the windowsill, keep them moderately moist and soon, they're putting on new growth. Fungii is one of those with a more "woody" stem and will naturally take a bit longer. My rubra (which is very similar) has been rooting since early spring and even though it's showing signs of new rowth (and a peduncle sprouting buds), it's still not secure in the pot, which means not-so-many roots yet. I think cpartist's plan is the way to go, and gets you a terrific amount of prep space between dunk and range. One comment on the double ovens in a single oven space: I think the double ovens work better when they are part of a range, rather than as part of wall oven. In a double oven range, one of the 2 ovens is pretty close to a full size oven, and the second oven is the smaller one. We had a maytag double oven range in our previous house and it was great. You could use the bigger oven for traditional baking, and then use the smaller oven if you needed to cook another dish at same time, or if you had something like frozen pizza where you wanted smaller oven to preheat more quickly But the GE wall oven that tries to cram 2 ovens in space of one results in 2 smaller ovens in the unit, so I'd steer away from that, since both ovens are pretty limited in size.
