Canada Blooms seems like a waste the past couple of years, especially last year. You don't get the variety of vendors like before, perhaps the economy has something to do with it too. I might try Stratford this year

My sister, brother-in-law and I went yesterday as well. We all had a great time. Checked out all the displays, caught a couple demo's, did a little buying and walked and walked. It's quite the walk into the convention centre depending where you park. Put on your running shoes, you'll be glad you did! Next week I'm going to try and get to the International centre in Etobicoke they have the Home and Garden show there from the 15-18th March. Hey, can you feel it? Spring is coming....can't wait...better get sowing some more seeds... Anyways, have fun. Trish

Tommysmommy, I guess different elevations and wind flows make a big difference. I believe the grow zones have to do with frost and temperatures. Here we have the Great Lakes to moderate our climate. Karyn1, yes indeed the tubers have to be lifted in the fall. As soon as the first light frost hits them, I dig them up and prepare them for their winter's nap. You can see my process on the dahlia forum here. Just search under my name, jroot, and you'll see that several folks follow what I do. Gottahosta, no most of my hibiscus which are in bloom already are tropicals. I think I have 14 different tropicals here now. Soon the perennial hibiscus will be in bloom. They are sprouting up very quickly this year, and higher than I've ever seen them. I'll try to catch them in bloom. Some of my tropicals have specific names, while others are NOIDS. This one is called "Red Velvet" with an 8 inch flower.

Hello everyone, Thank you so much for your advice and feedback. The weather in Canada is getting cooler now(night: 50's, day:68+). I think I should start bringing in the my plants. I will leave all 3 plants in my kitchen area(West orientation) lots of light and should be ok for the winter. Should I stop fertilizing the plants? I've been been fertilizing the plants every week(10-52-10) since spring. I am uncertain how the inflow will do once I bring it in during the winter. I will have to keep my fingers crossed and hope to see some flowers. I have no idea what the name or type of plumeria. Perhaps when it bloom some of you might be able to identify the plant for me.
