Many unknowns in classic home garden

Hi all

I live in the home that my grandfather raised and showed over 90 different camellias. Although most are still tagged, many tags have fallen off through the years and the people at the local Camellia society (most of which knew my grandfather) can't remember the varieties as well. My grandfather loved Nuccio's so there is a tendency for him to have purchased their varieties.

There are about 9 of so I believe. Please help name these beauties. Any help is appreciated as I would love to show them, but they need names!

Hello. I would like to be able to help in the identification of your camellias. To identify camellias is very difficult. To identify photographies of Camellias is still much more difficult. You should give some information. For example: approximate Years in which the camellias were bought. The months in which they bloom, (Epoch of flowering). Size of the flowers. Size of the leaves and his royal colour. Your camellias have the leaves in poor condition and it is difficult to estimate the species to which they belong, or if someone of these Camellias, it can be a Hybrid.

In my photographies, you can see, only some little of the great variety of Camellias that exist. I will try to give name:
Photo 1: white unknown Camellia japonica.
Photo 2: He might be 'Guilio Nuccio' or 'Apollo'.
Photo 3: ' Blood of China ' it Would Be necessary to see a photo of profile, of this one Camellia.
Photo 4: Stranger.
Photo 5: Stranger.
Photo 6: ' Blood of China '?.
Photo 7: 'Coquettina'?.
Photo 8: Stranger.
Photo 9. Reticulata or Hybrid of reticulata, 'Francie L.'? Dr. Clifford Parks '?.
Photo 10: ' Letita Sraeder '?. If it was here he would say a Camellia ' Bento de AmorÃn ', in USA it will be difficult to see this camellia.
Photo 11: ' Coquettina '?.

In defense of 2- and 3-car garages dominating the front of a house's facade, they really do make sense if one puts function over form. (I have a side-load garage on my house, so I don't really have hurt feelings over this matter.) More and more, houses are being built with infrequently-used rooms exposed at the front windows (formal parlor and dining room), and the most lived-in rooms at the back of the house (eat-in kitchen and family room). I don't think as many people are concerned about the street facade as they are the comfort and privacy of the rooms inside. It reminds me of the evolution of televisions. First, they were built into beautiful furniture cabinets. Then, they shed the cabinets, and were mounted on top of tables. Then everyone began stuffing them into armoires so they could hide them behind closed doors when company came over. Now, we're mounting them to the walls and hanging them over fireplaces. We seem to have dropped the premise that we don't really watch a lot of TV, leaving the house's most frequently used electronic device up front and center, without shame or apology. And we watch them in our family rooms, tucked in at the back of the house, off the kitchen, away from the streetfront where people drive by and judge our homes.

Yes, I do see the dandelion leaf in that shot now, I think. And the small dandelion plant in the last one. They very well could be multiple things there. I will look at some Erigeron species and compare them to what I have outside. Thank you very much, again!

I love the good (evil? bwaaaahahahaha) Doctor for those back/red blooms, but I have an absolutely merciless method of dealing with his propensity for BS. As soon as the blooms fade, every inch of last year's growth (everything that bloomed) gets whacked off to the ground. There's usually already several new canes, which I leave, unless they are already showing BS; then they go, too. Then I douse him with fertilizer and stand back. The new growth is much less susceptible to BS, and though I still have to spray, it's MUCH less than I would otherwise. Trust me, this doesn't hurt the Dr, and he looks much better for it through the summer. (heartless) John
