If your temps are above 40 F at night you can get the seedlings outside. Just start them in a fairly shady area and move them to an area of bright indirect light after a few days. I'd leave them in the bright indirect light for a couple weeks and then move to am sun. I wouldn't let them get any more then am sun while they are still so small.

If you are planning on digging up the ones that are inground I'd do it ASAP. The more root development the more difficult they'll be to dig and the more shock they'll experience.

I wouldn't pinch any seedlings. The legginess will resolve after they've been outside for a while. I don't know about adding more soil but you do it with tomatoes so maybe it will work for brugs? I'd wait for an answer to that from someone.

Thanks Karyn!!! You always come through with good advice! The brug seedlings outside don't have their first true set of leaves yet. Should I still dig them up this early? The cotyledons are barely above ground. When I pot them up should they go into the indirect light for awhile too?

Eddie explained once that you CAN add soil, but very slowly and there are certain things you have to follow. I never did get around to do it this season. But when I want to try it, I will do a search for that :-)

Even though they are still so small I'd probably lift them now. They won't have much of a root system and you have a good chance of getting it all. I'd also put them in a shady area due to the stress of being transplanted.
