Cephalanthus occidentalis - buttonbush 'Sputnik'

Reading the thread about Eastern Tigers made me start looking for information about buttonbush and wondering if some have more nectar than others.

They're supposedly common in Missouri but I can't recall ever seeing any growing wild.

I came across a description for 'Sputnik' that says:

"A large flowered, long blooming selection of our native buttonbush found in a native stand in Oklahoma"

Does anyone that one? Is there anyone that can compare it to the regular species for attracting butterflies? It should still have nectar since it was found growing wild right?

Misssherry - You mentioned in another thread that there are a lot growing in your area. Do they all look about the same or do they vary?
