Questions about Alabama
Comments (61)Not to shed a negative light on our state, but I'm curious if you've heard about all the uproar down here this week? Hope you've been informed that, even though you may not be a college football fan right now, after you're here a couple of years you MUST pledge your allegiance to either Auburn University (war eagle! or the University of Alabama (roll tide!). It's mandatory (no, not really). But seriously, you'll be amazed how college football dominates in this state. The vast majority of folks down here can be passionate fans of their favorite school, enjoy kidding around & joking with their rivals, but yet keep it all in perspective. Unfortunately though, like what happened this week, somebody occasionally forgets its just a game & takes it way over the line. Here is a link that might be useful: Auburn University oaks poisoned...See MoreHi I have a question
Comments (23)Hey John, no problem:-) Suzy, how's the tree now? Yes, I am keeping my fingers crossed for you too. Yes, coffee grinds can kill just about about any plant in a pot, depending on how much you used and how it has affected the mix. Your tree is savable and will take time will heal. You said you transplanted it into a better mix, and that will help. If you don't mind me asking? Where is this tree and how come you don't have it back? Mike:-) This post was edited by meyermike_1micha on Wed, Apr 24, 13 at 18:40...See MoreI have a couple of questions about granite I hope you can help me
Comments (18)Blue Pearl has been around a long time, and will be around a lot longer... When I first started in the "slab side" of this Trade, some 23 years ago, Blue Pearl was one of the first kinds of Granite that I had ever worked with - still love it today, except there's a whole lot more choices now - then there was 23 years ago... I think the "regional" thingy has some validity, but in the end, it's strictly a personal choice issue - I saw alot more of Blue Pearl in the Mid-West than out here in Phoenix... But I'm just a Fabrimicator - not an Inferior Desicrator!!! HA!!!! my .02 cents worth kevin Kevin M. Comments (3)I'd plant them now. Apples are perfectly hardy down to some very cold zones and they are much happier and easier to care for in the ground than in a container. I would provide some protection against any predators.....deer, bunnies, voles, etc......that might like an easy-to-reach midwinter snack. You do realize that apples grown from seed could turn out to be anything and will not be the same as the apple variety the seeds were obtained from. They might taste good but they could just as well be small fruits and rather tasteless or even quite sour. You just never know...........See Moreyugoslava
