Rebel Yell Camellia with Puss Caterpillar

I previously posted this in the Florida Gardening forum, but thought I'd share over here, too. I was admiring the bloom on my young "Rebel Yell" camellia, when I noticed a strange bug on an adjacent leaf. I later determined that this cute bug is a puss caterpillar (which can pack quite a sting). Anyway, I thought both the bloom and the bug are absolutely gorgeous.

Like the Rebel Yell, not sure about the puss. BTW, wikipedia says the puss caterpillar is venomous, so be careful :-

Luckily, these caterpillars are uncommon. I remember the first time I saw one.....so interesting! The sting from a puss is extrememly painful and can trigger an anaphylactic reaction (a serious one) in a sensitive person.

I've not been stung by this one; the Saddleback is the worst of the venomous caterpillars I've had a close encounter with. YIKES!

You should be very careful when in you garden. Like potato chips, you can't have just one.
