In New Zealand at this time of the year we get clusters of red flowers on a native tree called a Pohutakawa, hench its nick name, 'New Zealand christmas tree'. Our house is surrounded by these trees which typically grow along our coast lines. you need to look carefully at the trees behind to see the flowers.

merry christmas to all. I sent out about 12 of these sets to my family, labeled "the hot one" and "the mild one". nice christmas colors too. the mild one isn't that mild, until you compare it to the hot one. also, I picked ripe pods today. and have close to 30 seedlings, sitting out in my back yard. merry christmas from florida. Good morning, exhausted elves... And now, let the detox begin. Too much food, too much sugar, too much butter, too much wine and egg nog, and too much love and good will. No, wait, you can't have too much of that. But I always know the reveling is done when all I want in the world is a big bowl of steamed broccoli and a cup of tea... Today, it is raining and gray here in central Virginia, there is nothing on the calendar and no one in the guest room, the coffee is in the thermos, the leftovers are waiting in the fridge, the kitchen is relatively clean, and DH and the kitties are snoozing under and on the comforter. Bliss.

Love it!!! I'm gonna have to post them up on FB. I wish I'd of thought about the decorated tree for my wife. She always asks me to get the lights up - we're waiting on you! Haha!!! Good stuff! The decorated Pepper Tree is cool too, will have to do that to my Bolivian Rainbow before my wife gets home from work tomorrow. Then, she'll really think I'm nuts for Pepper's... Merry Christmas!!!

Hi John and Agatha and Kiwi - thanks for the Christmas good wishes, and hoping yours is all that you could hope for - whatever that be.
I like your 3 Snowmen J+A - a fitting substitute for the real things, and better than the 3 wise men any day! And once again I drooled over those beautiful foliage vrieseas - Summer Ice is particularly stunning, as well as that much beloved Pacific Blush......and that's one great live Christmas tree you have!

Also wishing all bromoholics on the gardenweb a wonderful time with family and friends over the Christmas season - a hot and sweaty one here!

Jaga, I do love your Snowmen. Could be wonderful to break the heat this time of the year here in Cape Town! And Sander, it would be wonderful to visit you for an hour or two, just to make me appeciate this heat a bit more! But Devo, those Christmas Trees of yours must surely get First Prize. That perfectly symitrical red form on top of an equally well balanced green vase - WOW!

And may the spirit of Christmas fill all of you so you can all enjoy a time of love, peace and joy!
