Don't be Silly!!! That is why everyone is here.. To share and learn... Congrats on your new Brugs!! I usually soak mine in seaweed and ST at least over night prior to potting up.. I have recieved some that I thought were sure gonners and the next day they perked right up...LOL I would give it a few days and good call on the No Fertilizer..Contact the seller and tell her the problem and send a pic if you can just it case you can't revive it.. I hear she is a very reputable seller... Good Luck..

Kyle where do you get the seaweed from. I read about it in this forum a few times now. and what is ST? Cause I need to know lol.......I am so nervously and impatiently sitting here waiting for MY brugs to be delivered! It is like giving birth lol Can't wait till it is over lol and you are holding the beauty in your arms.

I do the same thing that Kylie does for bare root plants or plants that are limp. First off you should remove the foliage to reduce stress. If you don't have Superthrive, B-1 or seaweed you can just soak it overnight in water. Don't worry about your plants having a 'Y' yet. It's not important. You don't want buds until it's established anyway. Good luck.

Lucy I get the Liquid Seaweed (kelp) @ Gibsons or some place that sells organic products... I use Maxi-crop Karyn uses a different one .. You can buy it online.. The ST I get from Lowes I can't buy the b-1 except on line.

about the "in the water overnight" thing,
uh, i sorta put these in soil and watered them IMMEDIATELY when they arrived and i saw their condition.

would it be a mistake to pull the roots back out of that moist soil right now?

That looks like it wil recover...me personally I would pull it out an plunk it in a bucket of water tell it good night and check it in the morning. dump the potting soil in a bigger pot to air out and reuse it in a day or so.. I have been know to leave a new one for a couple of days before potting it up... Looks like you will be fine..

I am really new at the brug-thing, but it looks better than some I have gotten through the mail. Some came in fairly soon after ordering them, and they looked worse than that, with the leaves yellowish, like they were taken into a low light area, like a house,or potting shed, some time before being sent.They were soaked in aquarium water for some time before planting . All have revived, and look great now, about 3 weeks being here. I did cut off the leaves, and soon new leaves/branches started growing from each place where the leaves were removed. I too, was real nervous, even scared, but all seems great today.
As for the paroletts, we have a pair that have 3 beautiful babies, 1 green female, one blue male , and 1 blue female, They are cute, arent they ??? This was their first nest, and I hope to get aother pair on the 3rd of May at the swap meet we attend every year. We go the night before, camp out, get up with the chickens, literaly, and see what people have brought. we have been going every year for the last 25 years or so, and are familiar with the more reputable people there. In June I plan to take my canaries, Oh they are beautiful this year !!! ( It's where I got my first Brug. I plan to take a peaches and cream to the guy who sold me mine, as a thank you for having them. He says he has never seen a varigated leafed one before.)

fade, it's just a little bit of shock from being transported in a box. You have been given some great advice here. I know the first ones are always the ones you worry about. ; )

It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would from your description. I would cut off all the mature foliage. Clip it about an inch from the stem and what's left will fall on it's own. The foliage will grow back and it would probably burn when it went outside anyway. I also remove most of the foliage when my brugs go from inside to outside. Even partial shade will scorch leaves that aren't acclimated to natural sunlight. Your baby should do fine : )You'll like the bloom on the V. Peach as well as the scent. Don't freak when you see that the flowers open almost white and take a while to change color.

It will be fine. It probably needs a good drink of water mixed with superthrive. They carry it at walmart here and at Omah's in Killeen. I had one that looked just like that and I watered it and misted it and it was standing back up in the morning.

My shredded white that looked like that died. I did everything I could think of, the others are recovering, but that one didn't.

Mine got shipped and left outside during the day when it was 35. That was the only one that isn't making it. The rest are.

I may contact Kuntry Kuttins, let them know, and then order another one. I really wanted that shredded white.

Sandra, those parrotlets ARE precious,
we tried breeding them for "fun" (riiight, hahahhaha)
we have 2 breeding pairs that we keep right now,
each pair is a Blue/Split-to-Yellow female, and a Green/Split-to-Blue male.
This is on purpose so that it's possible to get some White chicks,
which are Gorgeous,
but they're still on the scarce side in every clutch we get,
most of the chicks end up being green, blue or yellow,
which are also, of course, just as adorable.
we raise them hand-fed, so that they end up people-friendly and playful.
usually, we have to drive 5 hours or more to reach places that would hold Bird Shows, or Fairs, etc.
We just sold 4 breeder males in Columbus, OH about 2 weeks ago.
(turns out, it's VERY hard work, we haven't had the breeding boxes up in a while, hehaha, i think we're ready for a Break)

if you Do try to get things straightened with Katz Kuntry Kuttins,
i wish you the best, folks here seem to hold her in good repute.

It's Mid-August in Southern WV,
and i've never owned a brugmansia before,
but my peaches&cream Bloomed!!!

None of the other 4 Brugs (All of them Versicolors,
and 3 of them Very young), did not flower this year.
BUT,
They have Grown Up Quite a Bit over the season,
Here's my Versi-Peach i got from Katz Kuntry Kuttins,
(Note: the Peaches&Cream Also Came from Her),
so here's my Versi Peach straight out of the mail, in April:

I'm *SO* excited about my Peaches & Cream flowering,
and you guys gave me more confidence than you probably Believe,
when i first arrived here.

but i've got a Big Question for you,
and it involves my Peaches&Cream Brug.

Throughout the Season, 3 additional "Trunks" have just
"developed" around the main, center trunk of the brug.
so,
Basically i have 4 Trunks, almost like 4 brugs,
their trunks at the bottom very similar in size,
but the 3 trunks around the main one aren't really woody at all

here are some picks of what i'm talking about:
(you will notice 2 shoots of old bamboo coming out of the soil,
i had to support my plant, as it sometimes can get VERY windy):

but so, Ok
The "Main" Brug, the mature one in the Center?
I would like for it to have just it's Single Trunk, by itSelf

I don't want to loose the "other" 3 plants, either, though.

Is there any "good" way i can "Salvage" them as 3 new Brugs?

You can cut off the extras and stick them in water and they will roots..You can leave them tall or cut them up for trade... ;0) the little bumps you see on the stalks are future roots... Here is a link to Brugmansia Growers Internatinal.. A wonderful site with tons of info...
