A pearl crescent, maybe?

I always have a hard time telling the difference between the silvery checkerspot, and pearl crescent. This looks similar to both.

Here is the list of butterflies found in Virginia. Check out the list of fritillaries. Could be an Aphrodite or Atlantis, or any one of those listed.

You're lucky to get all those gorgeous little frits!

It had the dark hindwings with the dots, just like a Regal, but was so little. Or maybe I have simply convinced myself that it had those markings. I suppose it could have been a pearl crescent. Definitely didn't look like any of the other frits.
