Has anyone seen what the bid is up to on that brug? I think it's pretty but not that pretty. $280 with a day and a half left!!!!

You guys don't reuse center shop, do you:) I'm here to tell you that these are not that difficult to come by. Just like the sweet, metal kitchens in pastel blue, pink, yellow and white. This is a beautiful example, though, and looks to be in really perfect condition. It's a monster! I'm considering going this route, along with an antique stove, since I barely cook. The fridge? Well, gotta do a decent one there. You just reminded me to keep my beady eyes on the prize when I'm doing my Friday thrift and reuse circuit. Thanks!

They're taped, or rather tied up. I couldn't find my tape so I used some paracord I had that I've been tying tomatoes up with and staked them too. I was afraid to plant them too deep and plantaginea looked precariously perched so I staked them to a shepherds hook. It doesn't add much to the decorative value of my back yard but it will be fine for a couple of months and I decide on their home. I watered everything very good and then it started raining before I got to the front. Oh well, it won't hurt them. ;) Thanks for the picture Ken - love those big blooms!

I have been a GW member since before the turn of the century!! (golly, that sounds really old, LOL!!) Posting hasn't changed a jot since then other than the presentation or look has altered slightly and all the forums that were present before the acquisition by Houzz are also still here. It just got a whole lot easier to post photos. Once you become familiar with the new "look" you shouldn't have any issues finding your way around or posting and responding. I will say I find the smartphone app difficult to use but easy-peasy on a laptop or tablet.

It's a nice one - but I think I shy more away from the yellows due to Stangelbrand. Just the thought of that scares me! :) Can't imagine losing an entire collection due to this disease - yet I know it happens. Just call me paranoid! :) Give me 'Phanomenal' or 'Salmon Perfektion' any day! lol! And I'm liking the looks of 'Mon Amour de Mareuil' too!

Way too rich for my blood! I like American Pride which looks very similar and is on ebay occasionally much more reasonable! It is a double yellow

Hey Linda: I bought Am. Pride,too, and tho it hasn't bloomed yet think it is going to be just as effective in the Brug garden as Chief and for a lot less!!! Even if I could afford it, I wouldn't spend that kind of $$ on a Brug!lol!! Figure in 2 years price will be more reasonable, just like DayDreams has become. G.

Bonnie it's going so high not only becuase it's the first great yellow multifloral, but it's really the best triple out there for any color. It might be said it's the only true triple, since most of the others are really just poorly formed doubles with an extra deformed calyx that looks like a small skirt.
It's unique in it's quality of flowers, number of skirts, & color.

I am saving for a green house, lattice house and fence. It will be in the sheep area.

Jim isn't that the truth! It's $100 to fill my tank now. Thank goodness I don't have to drive anywhere too far anymore. If I was still working I'd need a different car. Tom thanks for the explanation for the exorbitant price on the Chief. Kylie I remember when DayDreams and Peanut were outrageously priced too.

Sorry but I'm still not buying it, just think what $$$ worth of seeds could buy one person compared to a 10 inch cutting?? I'm with Jim, other needs are more important??

Okay!!! Ya spend that on seed and wait how manys yrs.? IF you get anything.. I am VERY excited to see that has gone thru the roof.. And I think it is a Very exciting addition.. As much as I like Pink.. I LOVE Yellow and Orange..Looks good with my skin tones...LOL They are my Fav's no matter what the plant... I have 2 X's of Cheif and can't wait to see what they have to offer...

Just curious, what did this end up going for at the end of the auction?

By the way everyone...I was just at SS and they are offering cuttings for a limited time, so if you want one that you didn't have enough money for, maybe they have a cutting. I hope they still have them when the weather warms up here.
