I ordered one a few months ago from Almost Eden. It was a tiny little thing when it got here, so I potted it up until it grew some before I planted it in a raised bed in my garden. It's still only about ?18" tall, but it's growing steadily. It's never bloomed, so I can't vouch for its being a good nectar plant, but it's certainly reputed to be one. Somebody on a hummingbird forum told me that it liked it hot and on the dry side, so that's why I planted mine in a raised bed. This same person also told me that it makes seed pods - it's in the pea family - so even if mine doesn't survive the winter here, maybe I'll get some seeds.
My chances of successfully growing it are somewhat marginal here, being a tropical, but I thought I'd give it a try - I couldn't resist those gorgeous flowers!

I have grown this plant in a pot on my patio. Currently, I have lots of seedlings that I started this winter. It's a beautiful plant and a great hummer attractor. I've also seen some BFs on it.

Thank you for your responses. The flowers are gorgeous. I think I will give it a try. They apparently have this plant at Butterfly World on the east coast of Florida so I thought I would get it.
