Central Cali I'm so glad someone knows how to do the pictures on this site. I can barely even type and use the computer. I have taken lots of photos of everything.

I think the little white bulbs that are blooming in the photo with the irises are called Snowdrops or Snowbells? That's what people around here call them. I have some of them also. They are blooming their little heads off too.

Karyn, doesn't it just figure that the little old man that has all the daffodils out in his pasture doesn't want them and I'm killing myself trying to dig a bunch of them up and transplant them here. They are just out in this huge pasture growing like crazy. He has about 5 acres of them and told me I could dig everyone of them up if I wanted them. LOL It would take me the rest of my life to dig them all up.

I know that you people that are still having freezing temps are drooling looking at Centrals blooms and hearing about mine. Trust me it's only going to get better here when all the irises and daylilies and wildflowers start blooming. Hey not to mention all the brug babies I've been able to keep growing over the winter months. Ahhhhh just thinking about it makes me so ANXIOUS to see what all I ended up with from all of you.

I wish I could see the daffodils. I miss having them. Here are a couple of things I came home tonight and found blooming. One is the MOM or Devils backbone the other is my Clematis. This is the first time I have seen either in bloom. It was a pretty surprise.

Well Kristy at least you do have something blooming. I have several things in full bloom in the greenhouse. When the bulbs start going crazy and blooming full force, I know that Spring has Sprung and things are wakening from their long winter naps.

I'm going to church this morning and then it's back home to continue transplanting some of the daffodils. I'll probably be planting them all the way into April. I mean after all a person can only plant so many a day. If it wasn't for the fact that I want them to look natural I'd take the big tractor and just plow up a bunch of rows and toss them in and cover them up. Unfortunately for me, I'm hand digging every hole and at the end of the day my neck, shoulders, back, and hands are killing me. Good thing they sell over the counter pain medication or I'd never be able to get out of bed and face each new day.

Marian, I think I was the one who promised you pink daffs. They haven't even started to come up yet. I'll get them to you after they bloom & I see what's what. I know I have way too many double yellows, want any of them? And a bunch of poeticus. I could dig the doubles anytime since they are in a separate bed. I get some of mine from an empty lot down the street from me. The way I get them is to wait until after a good rain soaks the ground & just pull them out by the tops. They come right up without a lot of dirt on them.

Maybe spring really is on the way. I was in the yard and saw a crocus blooming!!!! I got so excited. The pussy willows are also in bloom. I can't wait for my daffs to start blooming. I have mainly pink varieties. I love them but they don't spread as well as the yellows. I wish that I could find an empty lot with daffs to dig like Linda and Marian! lol

Karyn, How many doubles would you like? That's what there is the most of & I can share Mt Hood & poeticus (white or pale yellow). I get them from an empty lot where my childhood Avon lady lived. Her husband used to have bee hives there too. She shared her daffs & narcissus with the whole neighborhood & I remember her fondly. They will eventually build a house there & they will all be gone so I keep digging.

Central Cali that camelia is fabulous!!!! I love camelias. My Mom used to have big beautiful red, white & pink bushes along the side of the house I grew up in. It's only about 15 miles from where I live now but I can't grow any camelias except sinensis and those blooms are nothing to look at.

Ok, I will go and dig up a bunch of daffodils for Karyn and Kristy and do ya'll a flat rate box.

I can not offer to do this for anyone else because I lost my job and now we really are on a tight budget. Social Security is all we have to live on now so my spending on flowers and mailing stuff out will have to come to a screeching halt.

I'm sending postage out first thing in the morning to Edna and Brenda for packages I've already received. So ya'll forgive me if I can't participate in all the exchanges and so forth anymore. Well unless I am able to find someone else to sit with. At my age, there is not alot of jobs out there and I would have to drive at least 30 miles to even be just a greeter or something along those lines at Wal-Mart. That is one draw back about living in the country. Everything is so far away.

Well there is one good thing about all of this. I can now get alot more done in the yard. I can devote more time to the new pond, and all the new paths I'm making, besides putting up a new barb wire fence. We have to put it up so we can take the old one down where we just added the five more acres to my gardens and paths. (I need my head examined) I don't know how I'm going to keep the weeds out of everything. LOL

Oh Well, alls well that ends well.

I'm sorry about your job too Marian. I am putting the money for the daffodils in with the seeds so don't send them til you get the money and thanks a lot. I am looking forward to having them in my yard again. I love the camelias also. I am thinking about planting a couple.

Marian, that's awful. I wish we all had enough money to buy all the flowers we wanted. And the world would be a nicer place because of it. I think I have the pictures figured out.

Wow Linda, those are all so pretty! I am going to put some in a circle around my trees. Thank you so much to you and Marian. I used to have them all over my backyard in Louisiana and have missed them.

Some of you knew that I worked 24 hours on and 24 hours off taking care of an Elderly (OLDER than me) lady in her 90's.
She is not doing too well and so they let two of us go. She's not expected to live much longer so it's probably a blessing in disguise.

At my age and where we live there really are no jobs. Around here just having ANY job is considered a good job.
Unless you are familiar with rural areas you probably can not relate to this. LOL

I just have to put my faith in the good Lord that he will provide me with whatever I will need. Notice I didn't say with whatever "I Want".

Karyn, you are OH SO VERY RIGHT. It is a perfect time to be off for awhile and work in the yard/fields and so forth. I have a bunch of trees that the wind blew down that need to be pushed up and burned and lots of little odds and end jobs on the place to tidy up. The only bad thing about that is that it will be much harder work, and NO PAY. LOL

Well I guess the pay will be having it cleaned up and looking better.

Now if these Thunder Storms would move out I could get back to planting my daffodils and so forth. Needless to say, that dumb hole (New Pond) in the front yard is full of water AGAIN. I'd love to be able to get the darn liner in it before NEXT WINTER. LOL We're suppose to have another round of storms at the end of the week. Go Figure. This is exactly what happened last year and it rained EVERYDAY for over 2 months here. I pray we're not in for a repeat of that.

Didn't mean to write a book, but I always feel better when talking about plants and so forth.

Hi! I live in Tampa so don't think it is cold enough for Daffodils (some of you may tell me different!) So I sometimes buy a potted 'dil. Is it possible to save the bulbs from year to year? I kept mine in its pot, have allowed it to dry out, and done nothing with it. Any ideas? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

Put them in the lower shelf of your frig for about 6 weeks, bring them out and water. They need a cold period to bloom. You can put plastic around the pot, just don't cover the top.
