vomiting aloe vera

Have you ever heard of this? I am NOT kidding. I have a large, potted aloe vera plant. The "arms" are about 15" long. We had an unexpected freeze here in January and it got frozen, poor thing. I brought it in and just let it sit in a warm, dry spot. The majority of the arms turned black and gushy, BUT the center of the plant pushed out some beautiful new arms...all green and shiny. I was so happy. Yesterday, I was on the phone when I heard a LARGE "splat" noise. I could not imagine what it was. I walked over to the area from whence it came and the AV had simply EXPLODED, for lack of a better word. All the new green shoots were on the floor, all the black arms had fallen off and there was AV "guts" ALL OVER the walls. Is that the craziest (%&$^#*# thing you've ever heard of?

Has this happened to anyone?
