That is just wonderful....(Dawg...think HF will take mine back? I want one like this now)...this is exactly what I had envisioned when I initially wanted to build one from old sliding glass doors...I even collected a dozen of them!! Maybe I'll have to show this one to my DH who was afraid that the glass door idea would look like a hobo shack.... I think you did a great job and should be proud... Your castle awaits ma-lady!!! go plant something and make it grow :)

I don't know. It was shown at Keukenhof in 2010 and I was told it was fairly new. If it look's like the Maguire's S, then maybe it is. BTW Helen, the white bloom is what your white should have looked like if it was M. :-) Code-talker.... Kristi

Fawnridge, I love crotons. I have a few, none rare I don't think. I like pink tones, and especially like a small Croton 'Piecrust' I picked up last season at USF. Jupiterplants, I know what you mean about the Sealing Wax palm. I currently have 4 of them. They are growing well. I killed my first one that I had several years ago by planting it too close to the sliding door of the greenhouse, where there was unfortunately a draft. It got a bit chilled and bit the dust. I made certain to plant the new ones (I was really, REALLY lucky and got them for only $10 each when I made a larger order from Hawaii, otherwise I wouldn't have so many)pretty far into the much warmer interior of the GH. I really like palms and am a sucker for the smaller growing understory palms that have new red leaves. This is one of my favorites, Calyptrocalyx pachystachis I am also a sucker for the "finger like" Anthuriums. I bought this Anthurium polydactylon off of eBay 2 years ago as a smallish plant, and finally trained it up a totem. I habe been growing the Costus "Maroon Chalice" for years and love the bright red architectural look of its stems. I discovered by trial and error that the Costus "Green Chalice" is actually root hardy here and comes back, but the Maroon Chalice doesn't. So I keep a goodly patch going in the GH thank you to everyone who has replied so far. I'd like to see pics of your stuff!

do you have a name for the type of plastic panels? im amazed at the price! i was sure that it would have cost well over $1000! it gives me hope that i may actually get my greenhouse sooner than later! we get a sizeable refund on our tax returns every year and we plan on one big project on the house to do with it... i know that this year or next we will be putting up some nice wood fencing (which i am planning on having morning glories grow up!) and my husband said that i can have my greenhouse after we have fence up, so that no neighborhood kids chuck rocks through it. my husband has actually been enjoying my hoyas more and is starting to get why i like them so much now that some of them have started blooming! he is expecially in love with my bella (but who wouldnt be!) and he said that when i have my greenhouse i can have as many hoyas as i want! he better be planning on following through with that promise!!! i might have to get it in writing, lol! anyways, thanks so much for the info, it gives me hope that my dream of my very own little greenhouse can actually come true!
