Hi Arizonans: I know it's not considered proper to cross-post, but I asked on the Hot Pepper Gallery, and the people there seem to be mainly Texas. And these peppers are not very hot. I bought an unlabeled pepper at the Desert Botanical Garden sale, and am having trouble with the ID. The pods are about 1 1/2" long and 1/2" wide, the seeds are white, and the taste is similar to a ripe bell pepper with a tiny after-tingle. I initially thought jalapeno, but the fruits are smallish and so sweet and mild. Thank you for any help you can give in pinning this thing down! Zill Image link:

Hibiscus calyphyllus. Its a short lived perennial but always have seedings to replace it. Eric Orlando,FL

Amazing how closely these leaves resemble the paper mulberry. Do these giant ragweed exist in Florida? I see paper mulberry around Gainesville often but don't think I've noticed giant ragweed before.
