Yvonne's salvia is Salvia splendens. It's an annual. Yvonne collected seed from the largest plants for years. You won't find it in garden catalogs and it's available only through trades.

I can share some of mine with you, send me an e-mail through GW.

Here's mine from 2008 - it grew about 3 1/2 - 4 feet tall. The hummingbirds loved it. This past summer, it was so cold and rainy, that the heat-loving annuals got a very slow start. It didn't grow very large, and I wasn't able to collect seed this fall.
